Game developer Maxis Studios and publisher EA are planning to give gamers of the life simulation video game “The Sims 4” a major present for the upcoming Holiday season through a new expansion pack.
Reports have it that the new DLC expansion pack, which is to be officially called as “City Life,” shall bring exciting stuff including a city world, new tourist non-playable characters, cultural food, and a lot more, notes Movie News Guide.
It was actually game enthusiast with the name The SimsScraper who took to Twitter recently to share, via leaks, what the contents of the upcoming DLC would be.
According to reports, “City Life” could actually resemble the previous game DLC entitled “Dine Out” but with a more modern feel. It also gives Sims more urban inclination wherein they can stroll around a bustling city, browse tall apartments and penthouses, and socialize in the cityscape, details Game & Guide.
More things to explore for player Sims
The leak by The SimScraper also revealed that the upcoming DLC will see a city world which shall feature new lot type apartments and a regular lot on high-rise penthouses.
The tourist non-playable characters will be exuding different priorities and habits than townies. They check city maps and like to take selfie snaps more frequently. They also tend to go together in a group of three or six Sims.
Players can also test their palette with new cultural food such as Indian food among other cuisines. And the Sims can also acquire the ability on how to cook the same recipe by eating, which makes it quite similar to the experimental food in Restaurant Time.
Before the release of “City Life” DLC, Maxis Studios shall also be releasing a small patch to add new features and UI improvements on “The Sims 4.”
Increasing the number of Sims in a game
Incidentally, “The Sims 4” also has its own share of Easter eggs or so it seems. One player reportedly discovered a file in the game which points out to a possible feature as a means to increasing the number of Sims in the game.
An image of the controversial file has been circulating around the web through a Spanish blog for fans of the game.
Subsequently, the rumors said that the file could be a part of a future update for adding a toddler feature on “The Sims 4.”
In fact, the same rumors said that a sneak peek of a three-level design detail of a Sim toddler has already been given out. The file was allegedly verified and validated by a member of Sim Studio who surprisingly confirmed that the model and structure of the toddler file are ready for release.
However, EA quashed the rumors and stop it from reaching more people by saying that the discovered file has nothing to do with an add-on toddler feature for “The Sims 4.” It explained that the file was just part of an old scrapped project of the developer.
They explained that it was merely a creation of the development team for their CEO Andrew Wilson to commemorate the birth of his newborn baby.
Incidentally, there are reports saying that the next expansion pack for “The Sims 4” is not recommended for children under 12 years old.
Game developer Maxis Studios has not released any expansions back-to-back but it may do so soon with the upcoming release of the new expansion pack also known as the Game Pack. Last July, the game released “The Sims 4: Backyard Stuff Pack.”
“The Sims 4” is based on a concept where players control various activities and can form relationships with another player Sims. The various built-in modes in the game also enable players to indulge in versatile mode and create game content.
