‘The Incredibles 2’ Director Brad Bird Confirms that Animation Work is Now Ongoing After Script was Done!

Director Brad Bird has recently come out to say that the animation work for the “The Incredibles 2” is now underway following the completion of the film’s script.

This development means that the sequel to the 2004 hit animation is on course to meeting its June 21, 2019 global playdate on worldwide theaters with more than enough time for marketing and promoting the Disney-Pixar movie.

Bird said that just like him, all the production staff is moving actively and quite excited on the development of the sequel. He reiterated his previous statement that the focus of “The Incredibles 2” will be on its characters – the Parr family, reports Movie News Guide.

He said that “The Incredibles 2” would not be affected by the popularity of those films that are centered around superheroes, which have become a fad in movies these days, considering that they are considered the most profitable genre films of late.

The director said that he wants the movie’s feel and characters to be the same but the plotline needs some new direction. He, however, did not reveal or confirm the rumored five-year time jump between the plotlines of the first and the upcoming second movie.

He also did not confirm nor deny all the rumored plotlines that have been going around since Disney greenlighted the movie early last year.

Not fond of unwrapping presents

In the same interview, Bird was also asked to spill details on “The Incredibles 2” to which the director replied that he is the type of person who does not want to unwrap presents before Christmas.

He also delivered a statement that came off as pretty vague when he said that the movie will be about repeating himself without really repeating himself, notes the MNR Daily.

Previous reports have been fairly consistent in saying that the youngest of the Parr family, Jack-Jack, will be one of the villains in the upcoming movie, but only for a short period of time until he comes to the point that family is family.

There are also rumors lately saying that it would be his brother Dash, who shall become the villain in the family.

But since both of these have not been confirmed nor denied by Brad Bird, they continue to remain as mere speculations.

Uncontrollable superpower

The rumor about Dash being a villain in “The Incredibles 2” stemmed from a recent analysis of a Reddit public forum member on the character.

According to a Reddit user who uses the name Professor_Wonder, the villain in “The Incredibles 2” is going to be Dashiel ‘Dash’ Parr, who is the second child of Bob and Helen Parr who possesses super speed.

Professor_Wonder explained that Dash was always told to rein in his superpower even during a sports competition in school.

So while he was reminded to control himself during the first movie, an older Dash may have an even more difficult time complying with that order because teenagers are not well known for that. The Redditor cited that teenage boys are well known to act way out when they are forced to control themselves that way.

He further elaborated that Dash gets conflicting notions of how to use his superpowers from his parents. In a family that seems to be falling into a deep depression, Dash is able to generate some positive attention by doing something negative, Professor_Wonder stated.

The Redditor also added that he expects Dash to go down on a dark road at the coaxing of a mentor who is identified as the maker of the caped suits that had so many Supers killed.

The suit maker shall reportedly create a suit that empowers Dash with his father’s strength, his mother’s elasticity, and his sister’s ability to create force shields and become invisible.
