Sherlock Season 4 Comes in January 2017, What’s in Store for the Charismatic Detective? Let’s See!

The progress of “Sherlock” has been quite interesting to follow, especially given the show’s unusual format. The producers put a lot of effort into developing their characters, and they also gave an otherwise classic and well-known tale a nice, fresh coat of paint. And while the show is about to come to an end with its upcoming fourth season, fans seem more excited than disappointed.

That’s in spite of the fact that there have been some quite negative rumors about the show recently, most notably ones talking about Sherlock’s death. We’ve been seeing this claim repeated more and more often lately, and it’s starting to seem a bit worrying.

Are the producers of “Sherlock” really planning to end the show on such a negative note? After all the great character building they’ve done throughout the series, and the strong emotional connection fans have established to the characters, it would be very puzzling to see them go that way.

After all, “Sherlock” is not meant to be a tragedy or drama. While the show has had its darker moments, it’s ultimately supposed to be in the same tone as the original “Sherlock”, and it should have a slightly upbeat feeling to its plot lines.

That’s why many fans are convinced that the rumors were false, and many are actually expecting the new season to end on a positive note. There are also rumors of a possible spin-off coming up, and if that’s true, the producers will likely set up some cliffhanger at the end of season 4 to leave the doors open to more storylines in the future.

Other rumors about the show talk about a possible crossover episode with “Wayward Pines”, and this seems to have excited fans quite a lot. Both shows have a lot in common, although they are also quite unique at the same time, and many critics seem to agree that it would be a perfect mix if they were combined.

We still have no confirmation if those rumors are true, but considering that the show is apparently going to get a guest appearance by a “Wayward Pines” actor, it’s entirely possible. Toby Jones will be portraying the role of the newest antagonist on “Sherlock”, and if the producers decide to draw some parallels between the two shows, that would get many people practically glued to the screen for those episodes.

Moriarty will apparently play a major role in this season as well, and Sherlock is likely going to stumble across a major revelation about the villain. The news might come as a bit of a shock to Sherlock himself, according to the initial teasers, and it looks like the writers are planning to throw a huge curve ball to their fans.

It’s also been implied that Watson will have a role in that too, but it’s possible that this is just a misunderstanding. After all, Watson is generally by Sherlock’s side all the time, so it makes sense that he would also have a central part in the new revelations about the detective’s enemy.

On that note, some fans apparently feel like Watson’s character is a bit underdeveloped lately, and they’ve been expressing their desires to see him in a bit more detail during this season. Sure, Watson is supposed to be a sidekick in the end, but the character also has a lot of potential to be a more interesting presence on the screen.
