The fourth season of the American supernatural drama TV series “The Originals” on The CW will be moved from its usual fall premiere to January next year but the push back hardly means anything to the excitement of the fans on the hit show.
While the Mikaelsons were all bundled up by Marcel Gerard, played by Charles Michael Davis, during the Season 3 finale, it seems that the Original family will not be in the same predicament for long.
In fact, most of the reports, rumors, and speculations about “The Originals” Season 4 plotlines have been fairly consistent in saying that the premiere episode shall feature a five-year time jump and shall eventually find both Hayley and her daughter Hope finding a way to release Klaus and his siblings from the spell that Marcel put them into during the final episode of Season 3.
However, upon their release, it seems that the Mikaelsons will not be venting their anger on Marcel as they are likely to be up against a new and more vicious villain in Alistair Duquesne, to be played by Neil Jackson.
According to reports, Alistair has been holding a grudge against the original badass hybrid Klaus, played by Joseph Morgan, for 100 years and it looks like the Season 4 storyline shall see the villain hunting Klaus to exact his revenge, reports the Christian Times.
Reports have it that Alistair may be the mysterious force that is wreaking havoc among the children of New Orleans and Klaus and Hayley, played by Phoebe Tonkin, and the rest of the Mikaelsons may be forced to fight him because they wanted to protect Hope, to be portrayed by child actress Summer Fontana.
Hope will save the day
However, based on previous hints and teases, it is possible that the hybrid daughter of Klaus and Hayley will be the key character who shall be able to defeat Alistair.
As the daughter of two hybrids, Hope shall be revealing her dark side that will surprise even her parents. Reports have also been saying that she would not need any prodding and she will apparently come out of her own.
In fact, in a recent interview, Phoebe Tonkin alluded that Hope will begin coming to her own in the fourth season of the show and shall come out as a very formidable young witch.
The actress also expects Hope to become an ally to Freya, played by Riley Voelkel, rather than a protégé of her father or mother. As such, the villain of “The Originals” Season 4 shall have to contend not only with the Mikaelsons but also the budding power of Hope.
It is possible that in the upcoming fourth season of “The Originals,” the Mikaelsons shall anchor their safety on Hope and that fans could really expect the little girl to learn every power and spell she could get her hands on in an effort to save her family.
There is a shade of “The Incredibles” storyline into the plot of “The Originals” Season 4 with Hope being the equivalent of the youngest of the Parr superhero family known as Jack-Jack, who exudes superb yet uncontrollable powers.
Drawing on her werewolf roots
At the start of the Season 4 premiere episode, the reports have also been fairly consistent in saying that Hayley shall be drawing on her werewolf roots to rescue Klaus and the rest of the Mikaelsons from the enslaving spell of Marcel.
However, as she and her daughter Hope finds the cure, which they could do so with the help of the seven werewolf packs, she would discover something strange with her daughter.
Reports have it that Hayley shall find out that Hope has a dark side to her, which actually is not surprising since she is the daughter of Klaus Mikaelson.
It would also be interesting to see if Vincent Griffith, played by Yusuf Gatewood, would also turn to become another villain in Season 4 of “The Originals,” the way that Marcel suddenly turned as one during Season 3, notes Counsel & Heal.
