While most gamers are looking forward to the release of “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” Remastered version, some of them have overlooked the fact that the latest offering from developer Infinity Ward and publisher Activision is the first-person shooter video game, “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.”
“Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare” shall be hitting the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and the PC on November 4 and the “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” Remastered, officially called as “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered,” shall also be bundled and released with it on the same day.
The latest “Call of Duty” video game comes after “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” released last year and “Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare” released in 2014.
Based on the trailers of “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare” released on the Call of Duty YouTube channel, the upcoming sci-fi first-person shooter video game shall have six basic player classes called Combat Rigs.
Each rig will come with a choice of weapons payload and skill perks called Traits. Players can also craft their own personalized and prototype weapons in the game and kill streaks can unlock new weapons and equipment, details Windows Central.
A multiplayer beta
In the hope of soliciting gamer feedbacks on its upcoming game, Activision Publishing shall be holding a multiplayer beta testing for “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare” on October 14 initially on the PlayStation 4.
The multiplayer beta session for Xbox One will follow shortly after October 14 but definitely before November 4.
It has been learned that the Call of Duty XP opening keynote shall have a new campaign section from “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfarer” with the first multiplayer footage from “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered” for a price of $79.99 in a bundle called the Legacy Edition.
The game publisher also disclosed the “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered” shall have 16 multiplayer maps from the original game, with the first 10 coming at launch, and the final six to be added for free in December.
Focus on control and choice
One other thing that is generating interest on “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare” multiplayer mode is its feature that gives players more control on how they play and how the firefight goes down.
Interestingly, “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare” is the first official foray of the “Call of Duty” game in space.
The two things that stood out during the recent Call of Duty XP event recently are the soldier classes and map design of the multiplayer mode of “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.”
From those who were able to experience the gameplay walkthrough during the event are all in agreement that the multiplayer mode is really focused on how players usually want to play “Call of Duty,” thus resulting in a modular system of classes, load outs, and weapon upgrades, notes IGN.
The multiplayer mode is actually similar to the ‘Specialists’ mode under “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.” It has a set of six Combat Rigs that are basically different soldier classes inspired by popular play styles.
There are the typical snipers, and mid-range traditional “Call of Duty” soldier but there are also more defensive kits, including a fast, jump-oriented guerilla assassin.
The Rigs system of “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare” gives gamers over 50 possible combinations to choose from. Combined with the pick-10 load outs, gamers can get really granular with their kits and loadouts to get exactly the combat style they wanted.
The maps in the game also facilitate a more nuanced approach for the non-competitive player. They are lane-based “Call of Duty” maps which are way better than the previous maps of the previous games.
The lanes are not as obvious as the ones in “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3,” which actually make gamers encounter fewer funnels toward a chokepoint and more like a part of an overall strategy. They also go well with the Combat Rigs idea in that no matter what role a gamer takes on based on how he wanted to play, there is always a good way to execute his role.
