In “Jurassic World,” former Navy SEAL Owen was called the dinosaur whisperer in Isla Nublar because he can actually train velociraptors. He managed to train them to some degree but in light of the melee created by the escape of the intelligent and genetically-engineered Indominus rex in the park, the velociraptors turned against humans.
However, towards the end, it could also be recalled that Owen managed to whisper to one of the velociraptors who eventually helped the T-Rex stall the Indominus rex before the latter was swallowed wholly by the dinosaur from the water.
Speculations have it that the plotline of “Jurassic World 2” might involve crime-fighting dinosaurs and they could probably be the new breed of velociraptors, reports the Christian Today.
The same reports are saying that the sequel to “Jurassic World” will feature the velociraptors being trained like obedient soldiers to become like militarized dinosaurs. While the producers or anybody from the production team have yet to confirm this speculation, it is also possible that Owen, played by Chris Pratt, may have something to do with the evolution of the velociraptors in “Jurassic World 2.”
As if to further complicate the rumored plotline, there are also rumors subsequently coming out saying that other countries shall also have their respective armies of dinosaurs, which seems to be going overboard, that it is almost hard to believe it already.
Returning to Hawaii
Pre-production has already started for “Jurassic World 2” and the first order for the crew was to look for a possible setting in Hawaii again for the movie.
Isla Nublar in “Jurassic World” was filmed in Hawaii, and so was the first movie, “Jurassic Park,” back in 1993.
According to a production insider, “Jurassic World 2” shall have a working title of “Ancient Futures,” which is an obvious oxymoron.
The same source is also saying that filming for the movie shall commence on February 27, 2017, which would give the production sufficient time to finish everything and plenty more to spare for the marketing and promotions before its official release date to theaters in June 2018.
Isla Nublar was actually shot in Kualoa Ranch in Oahu, Hawaii, and it remains to be seen if the sequel will be shot again there. It could also opt to move to another location just like “Jurassic Park 2: The Lost World” which transferred to Isla Sorna, also in Hawaii.
Bryce takes over the lead from Chris?
In “Jurassic World,” it is obvious that the lead star is Chris Pratt and the main support comes from Bryce Dallas Howard, who played park manager Claire Dearing.
According to the latest reports, Claire shall be the main character for “Jurassic World 2” which means that Bryce Dallas Howard shall be unseating Chris Pratt as the lead star of the film, cites ASZ News.
It was actually “Jurassic World” Director Colin Trevorrow who teased that the sequel will revolve around the rival companies who are making genetically-engineered dinosaurs.
The director said that Howard shall return as the main protagonist of the film. In the first film, the character of Bryce Dallas Howard became a sensation on the internet because of her choice of footwear in Isla Nublar while running around with the dinosaurs and many critics felt that it was too unrealistic, hilarious in some ways too.
So when she was announced to be part of “Jurassic World 2,” Bryce said she is hoping that her character would leave the high-heeled shoes at home.
She has already accepted the fact that the high-heeled shoes have become part of her legacy to the very successful film franchise, she is not at all bothered even if she is asked to wear them again in the sequel.
