When Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson starts saying and talking about candy asses and chicken shit, he is doing it more as an entertainment performer for the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), where he happens to be one of the legendary crowd-drawers.
Right after filming for “Fast & Furious 8,” he posted something like those words on his Instagram account by referring to an on-set feud between him and one of the movie’s co-stars and calling the person as candy ass and chicken shit.
In the “Fast & Furious” film franchise, The Rock is an actor who portrays the tough-as-nails character, Luke Hobbs.
While the rumors online have made a big deal of the supposed on-set feud between The Rock and Vin Diesel, the two have remained mum about it, and the other cast members too.
Staying out of it
In fact, in a recent interview with Jason Statham, the actor who played Deckard Shaw in “Fast & Furious 7” and then again in the upcoming “Fast & Furious 8,” was quoted as saying that he stays out of any bickering or any troubles that people have.
The British action star added that he has nothing to do with it and he does not want any part of it, adding also that Dwayne is his own man and he is entitled to say what he wants in his own way so he advised the press to just ask the actor instead about it. He made the statement during the press conference of his new movie “The Mechanic: Resurrection,” details The Independent of UK.
The speculations were saying that Dwayne Johnson was angered by Vin Diesel’s tendencies to keep the cast and crew waiting for hours before he was ready to shoot in “Fast & Furious 8.”
But it should also be noted that The Rock only boarded the franchise beginning with the fifth film while Diesel has been with the movie series from the get-go. He now, in fact, serves as one of the producers of the now iconic film franchise.
A PR stunt to hype the film
It would have been impossible for The Rock to complain about Vin Diesel’s attitude after they have done three movies in the past, with a fourth one just completed.
Now, the grasp of the rumors is starting to slip especially with reports saying that everything is a PR stunt that shall build to a Wrestlemania 33 fight in April next year, less than two weeks before “Fast & Furious 8” hits global theaters on April 14, 2017.
According to new reports, the reported on-set rivalry between The Rock and Vin Diesel is a complete fabrication, typical of hyping a major match in the WWE, the long-time home of the famous wrestler, then and still is now.
Some sources are saying that The Rock was actually able to convince Vin to amp up the drama between them so they could turn it into a WWE match come Wrestlemania 33, to be held on April 2, 2017 at the Orlando Citrus Bowl in Florida, and further boost the promotion and box-office stock of “Fast & Furious 8” when it opens in cinemas on April 14th.
Many also believe that The Rock would not stake his reputation as the best-paid actor in Hollywood today by foolishly and shamelessly criticizing his co-stars. He was obviously acting more as a performer for the WWE rather than the great and professional actor that he is in the next film of the “Fast & Furious” franchise.
Last year, there have been reports that the next installment of the car racing film franchise “Fast & Furious” shall feature a prison break reportedly featuring Deckard Shaw.
Back then, the rumors were saying that it would be British Dame, Helen Mirren, who shall be orchestrating the prison break and she will be the big bad for the next movie of the franchise.
Those rumors were wrong because as it turned out, the main villain of “Fast & Furious 8” is going to be award-winning actress Charlize Theron while Helen Mirren will be playing someone else, who will not be part of the action so much, although she really wished that she would.
There are also reports saying that Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw might become one of the good guys and join the group of Dominic ‘Dom’ Toretto.
Based on the recent hints on his social media accounts, it seems that there shall indeed be a prison breakout in “Fast & Furious 8,” but it is going to involve Luke Hobbs instead.
