‘Outlander’ Season 3 to See Jamie and Claire Reuniting Early and Heading to Jamaica!

Filming for Season 3 of the time-travel romance drama TV series “Outlander” on Starz has already begun on August 21 and fans of the popular show got excited because it would just be a matter of time before it returns to the small screen.

In fact, actor Sam Heughan, who plays Jamie Fraser in the TV series, teased an image of what his character would look like when Season 3 of “Outlander” comes back on Starz.

It can be recalled that the Season 2 finale had a 20-year time jump as Claire Fraser, played by Caitriona Balfe, traveled to 1968 where she met her already grown up daughter Brianna.

But Jamie was not seen in his aged self during Season 2 which is why fans wanted to know what he is going to look like when he becomes old. And that is what the actor did with his tease of his character, notes the International Business Times.

Also during the Season 2 finale, while Claire went back to the future, Jamie stayed behind. She was actually not sure if Jamie survived the Battle of Culloden and it was only later that she realized that he did so she will decide to go back.

According to reports, Jamie and Claire will not be separated for long when Season 3 of “Outlander” unfolds. Accordingly, Claire will return to Jamie’s time and they will head to Jamaica.

An entirely new adventure

Heughan said that Season 3 would be an entirely new adventure for Jamie and Claire, even citing that it would be a completely different show.

He added that Season 3 is probably the most interesting in the TV series in a way. He disclosed during the same interview that they have been setting everything up during the first two seasons, introducing the characters, and the show will soon go into new and different worlds.

While Starz has not revealed any premiere date for Season 3 of “Outlander,” the reports have been rife in saying that it will return to the network earlier than Season 2 did this year.

Incidentally, production designer Jon Gary Steele, also revealed that there will be several battles in “Outlander” Season 3. He also hinted that the deaths from the Battle of Culloden will be told in another format.

The upcoming third season of “Outlander” shall be based on the book of Diana Gabaldon entitled “Voyager” and it has been said that the deaths of some important characters will be highlighted on the TV series, reports the Hall of Fame Magazine.

The production designer also showed the cobble mats which shall be used for covering the roads to make the scenes really look like that of the 18th century.

An authentic Caribbean look

As Jamie and Claire will be heading to Jamaica in Central America, the production design shall also feature an authentic Caribbean look, which the show successful did in Seasons 1 and 2 by capturing the 18th-century look of both France and Scotland.

Prior to reaching Jamaica, Jamie and Claire shall reportedly have some adventures in several ships during Season 3.

They shall likewise be meeting new characters since most of the characters of the show that fans have known in Seasons 1 and 2 have perished during the Battle of Culloden.
