The second half of 2016 appears to mark the start that Japanese gaming company Nintendo reinforces its presence again in the international gaming business.
Fresh from the successful launch of its mobile augmented reality game “Pokemon Go,” Nintendo is now drawing accolades after it showcased once again “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” in the just-concluded Gamescom held in Cologne, Germany.
The game shall be released on the Wii U and the upcoming Nintendo gaming platform, the NX, which is due to come out next year.
Also during the four-day expo, “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” took top honors and was even adjudged by critics as the best game for Wii U, notes Polygon.
It was the second major gaming event that the game took part in and also drew an immense response from fans and gamers. During the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016, “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U nearly caused a stampede at the event.
Also during the Gamescom 2016, Ubisoft Montreal’s hack-and-slash game, “For Honor,” was also named as the best game on both PC and the PlayStation 4. An Xbox One version will be launched soon too.
The pirate adventure from Rare, “Sea of Thieves,” was also named best Xbox One game and best multiplayer game.
Interestingly, all those three games that were adjudged in the Gamescom 2016 as the best are set to be unveiled next year.

Have something new to offer
Eiji Aonuma, series creator of “The Legend of Zelda” announced during the E3 2016 that the next iteration of the game is to be officially called “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.”
While Japanese game developer Nintendo has yet to officially announce the release date of the game, speculations are rife that it would happen in March 2017, which also means that the company’s latest gaming platform would launch either before or during that date.
Aonuma said that gamers should look forward to the game because he guarantees that it will offer something new the way they were able to do with “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.”
He explained that “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” has always been the base of the company’s secret sauce for the franchise but in the upcoming iteration of the game, they will change it dramatically and it would be like going from Japanese food to Continental dishes. Aonuma added that he is sure that players of the game shall be surprised.
“The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U has been announced as early as 2013. In fact, it was expected to make its debut during the E3 2015 last year but nothing happened.
