Reports have emerged that “Kingdom Hearts 3” was found listed for the Nintendo NX. Nintendo Insider reports that the game was spotted listed under NX on EB Games’ Australia.
This shocked a lot of players as the game was only announced for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One gaming consoles.
This also gave players a clue that the game might be released next year given that the NX is slated to release in March 2017. Some speculated that the game might come out a month after NX’s release.
The rumor stemmed from a screenshot posted by a Twitter user, which shows a placeholder date for “Kingdom Hearts 3” for the NX on the Australian online retail store.
The photo quickly spread among “Kingdom Hearts” threads thus creating a buzz and confusion in the gaming world.
Square Enix also announced that games such as “Dragon Quest X,” “Dragon Quest XI,” and “Dragon Quest Builders” will be aboard the NX along with the popular “Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn,” which added more to the speculations.
Reports say that porting the new “Kingdom Hearts” title to the NX may be one of the reasons why the game is experiencing a long delay.
However, EB Games have denied the listing, claiming it was probably a result of photoshop.
Through their Twitter page, EB Games said that they have never listed the upcoming game for Nintendo NX on their website nor any social media account.
They also answered fan queries saying that they never deleted the game from their list because it was never there from the start.
EB Games stated that some fans might have altered the list with the use of photo editing applications to make it appear as if the game is available on their listing for NX.
“Kingdom Hearts 3” is the 11th installment in the popular crossover role-playing game series. It is also the final chapter in the Dark Seeker saga.
The game is supposedly the sequel to 2005’s “Kingdom Hearts 2” and 2002’s “Kingdom Hearts.” Although there are games in between the trilogy, fans can expect a massive improvement on “Kingdom Hearts 3” compared to the two main installments.
The game will be set after the events of “Dream Drop Distance” with protagonist Sora joined by Donald Duck, Goofy, King Mickey, searching for the seven guardians of light and the ‘Key to Return Hearts’ while fighting bad guys.
King Mickey and Riku have to search for previous Keyblade wielders in an attempt to stop Master Xehanort’s plan to balance the light and darkness.
By the start of the game, Sora will have completed his Mark of Mastery. He and the gang will also face the Heartless and Nobodies in the game.
Master Xehanort and Master Eraqus will also return, alongside the inclusion of Disney characters such as Rapunzel and Baymax.
It was earlier reported that Master Xehanort will now be a playable character in “Kingdom Hearts 3” which means that players now have the option to play the villain in the story.
The game will feature an updated look for Sora, as well as the introduction of an attack called the ‘Attraction Flow’ that utilizes Disney Parks attractions.
The game will also be the first in the series to make use of the Unreal Engine 4. Game director Tetsuya Nomura revealed that the upcoming installment will be huge as it will present a massive story.
Square Enix has not given as much details regarding the highly-anticipated game. It was also noticeably absent at this year’s E3 2016 because the game developer wanted the focus on “Kingdom Hearts 2.8,” which will be released in December.
Nomura advised players to play “Kingdom Hearts 2.8” as it would serve as preparation for “Kingdom Hearts 3.”
