It’s been quite a while since Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez broke up, and even though they’ve both seemingly moved on in other directions, it’s clear that there is something still lingering in the air between the two stars and their break-up wasn’t resolved very well. Just recently, we’ve been seeing the two involved in some online drama on Instagram, related to a comment on Justin Bieber’s account, and while Selena Gomez ended up saying that she regrets even getting involved, some of her fans are questioning how much the actress is truly over her ex-boyfriend.
It all started with Justin Bieber’s new girlfriend, Sofia Richie. The singer has been getting a lot of attention for his new romantic interest, mostly in the form of comments from his fans which reportedly sometimes turn nasty. He has seemingly had enough of the situation, and made a post on Instagram in which he asked his fans to mind their own business and not mess with him and his relationship. He also threatened to make his profile private and leave everyone out if the behavior continued, which wasn’t received very well by his followers.
Things got to the point where Selena Gomez interjected with her own comment, telling Justin Bieber that he should be more respectful to his fans, and he shouldn’t make his relationship public if he doesn’t want it commented on. She was seemingly disappointed by his threat against his fans, stating that Bieber should remember where he started from, and who was there to support him from the very beginning.
However, Bieber has shown a certain level of disregard for his fans for quite a long time now, so it’s not clear if those words would have any effect on him. The singer seems to treat his fan base as largely expendable, and this kind of attitude has been becoming more and more pronounced in his appearances over the years. Given the fact that he threw the threat of locking down his Instagram account so lightly, it’s clear that he still has that attitude in his mind.
And in the end, Bieber actually did block his account, leaving many of his followers disappointed, especially those who had a chance to observe his exchange with Selena Gomez before the account was closed.
Gomez, on the other hand, sounds regretful over her decision to comment on the picture, stating that she doesn’t need that kind of drama in her life. The actress seemingly got carried away in the heat of the moment and didn’t consider the consequences of her actions very carefully, as she wouldn’t have made that comment if she had realized what it would be followed by. We don’t know if the situation has had any effect on the relationship between Bieber and Sofia Richie, as the singer hasn’t made any comments on their current status following his public argument with Selena Gomez.
Not everyone has been critical of Justin Bieber lately though, as for example Kourtney Kardashian seems to hold him in high regard, even though they don’t seem to be that close anymore. She was supportive of the singer in the incident, reminding him as usual to take care of himself and ensure that he prioritizes his own well-being over anything else. Whether or not Bieber will listen to her advice is a different story, but at least he has someone out there looking out for him, so that must be reassuring for the singer.
