‘GTA 6’ Developer Rumored to Make an Announcement About the Game at Gamescom 2016!

Ever since the release of the open-world action-adventured video game “Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5” in October 2013, rumors have been swirling wildly online about the next sequel to the game, “GTA 6.”

It has been previously reported that “GTA 6” shall come out on the gaming consoles sometime in 2018, with some placing it to as far back as 2020.

However, 2018 appears to have a good leg to stand on since the games of the “GTA” franchise come out to the gaming consoles and the PC every five years.

As 2018 is barely two years away, it is now rumored that American game developer Rockstar Games might already make an announcement regarding “GTA 6” very soon, even speculating that it could happen at the Gamescom 2016 to be held in Cologne, Germany later this week, notes the Vine Report.

Although it is also possible that Rockstar Games might also usher its other popular video game “Red Dead Redemption 2” during the Gamescom 2016. It could be one or both video games but Rockstar definitely has to make its presence felt in the event following a lackluster showing at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 held in June.

The speculations were actually based on the recent statements issued by Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, when it said that they would be announcing some exciting future projects which could mean that new games would be released soon.

Coming out with the new gaming consoles

There are also rumors saying that “GTA 6” might already come out with support for virtual reality (VR) technology which is the reason why Rockstar Games is taking its time to develop the sequel to the very successful video game franchise.

There are also speculations stating that it is possible that “GTA 6” might be released in 2020 because it shall already be coming out in the next generation gaming consoles – the Xbox Two, and the PlayStation 5.

Waiting for the next generation gaming consoles to come out will be good for Rockstar Games and the “GTA 6” because it would already be capable of supporting the features that gamers are envisioning for the game including VR technology, among a few more, notes Game & Guide.

It is possible that Rockstar may launch “Red Dead Redemption 2” at Gamescom 2016 and also make an announcement regarding the development of “GTA 6.”

The gameplay of “GTA 6” is also reported to change slightly from its predecessor, focusing more on realistic driving experiences.

Fans and gamers of “GTA” games are also hoping that “GTA 6” would feature supercars in the next installment which would be capable of various wheel spinning moves.

Rumors on the game’s setting

The initial rumors about the setting of “GTA 6” are that it would have its biggest map yet to date because it shall combine all the gameplay maps from the previous iterations of the game.

Subsequently, there came rumors that the setting of “GTA 6” would be in London. Then came speculations that it could be set in Japan as well.

Lately, it seems to have been trimmed down to the city of San Francisco in California, known in the game as San Fierro.

The surprising inclusion of London in the rumor mills of the game’s location apparently emanated from the fact that most members of the Rockstar Games development team working on the game are British.

However, critics are now saying that should “GTA 6” be located in London, there will be some changes on the features as well. One important change is that the steering wheel of the vehicles will be on the right side.

Latest rumors about the game suggest that it will feature a vintage theme which hints at a “Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories” prequel.

Since the “Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories” is set in 1984, it is possible that “GTA 6” could go as far back as the 1970s and could also boast of vintage cars and clothing options for players.
