When game developer Bethesda Studios launched the post-apocalyptic role-playing game “Fallout 4” at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) last year, fans were expecting that it would be the turn of its equally popular RPG “The Elder Scrolls 6” at this year’s E3.
Bethesda did make an announcement at the event about “The Elder Scrolls 6” but only to say that it is pushing the launching of the game at a much later date contrary to previous assumptions that it will make it to the gaming consoles this year.
Pete Hines, Bethesda Vice President of Marketing and PR, said that the company is fully supportive of the decision of game director Todd Howard to move the release of “The Elder Scrolls 6” further down the line.
He explained further that Bethesda Studios should not be seen by both gamers and critics as a vending machine, adding that they are not a two-button device that alternates between “The Elder Scrolls” and the “Fallout” franchises, notes the Parent Herald.
Hines also added that the intention of Todd Howard and Bethesda Studios is to successfully turn their four latest games into Game of the Year contenders so it would not be surprising if they have the same thrust for “The Elder Scrolls 6.”
He added that Howard and the game development company are working on games for the next 10 years and each project would give gamers plenty of reasons to be excited about.
Reports have it that Bethesda is now finetuning “The Elder Scrolls 6” to make it the perfect “The Elder Scrolls” game in the franchise.
While waiting for the release of “The Elder Scrolls 6,” gamers should be content playing “The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited” and “The Elder Scrolls: Legends.”
No teasing and hyping
Pete Hines revealed in another interview that Bethesda would not be teasing and hyping “The Elder Scrolls 6” for long.
He said that anything that Bethesda wants to do from a PR-marketing perspective always has implication on the developers.
Rather than stopping to make a shiny new demo build a few times year for “The Elder Scrolls 6” for a five-year hype, the team will just stick to making the game, cites the PC Gamer.
He explained that fans and critics would absolutely be not hearing first details on “The Elder Scrolls 6” years before the game comes out. He adds that the only reason they have to confirm “The Elder Scrolls 6” is in development because he has been tired of being asked the same question again and again.
Hines said that it is not about the next things that they were doing nor the things that they were even doing after that.
Gamers would not mind
Even after another absence at the E3 2016 last June, the rumors about “The Elder Scrolls 6” continue to make it to the internet, which only indicate how popular and widely anticipated the video game is.
There have been reports that the next “The Elder Scrolls” game shall be a sequel to the fifth installment of the series called as “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim,” thus the rumors of the next game being called as “The Elder Scrolls 6: Skyrim 2.”
However, there are also reports saying that it would be called “Argonia” because it is to be set in such location where the previous installments of the video game series had yet to fully explore.
Lately, there are now rumors saying that it is possible that game developer Bethesda Studios may opt to reboot the storylines completely and most gamers would still not mind.
The speculations about the reboot of the franchise emanated from last year’s online multiplayer game release of Bethesda titled “The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited” where the developer introduced a new province of Tamriel.
