Polish game developer CD Projekt Red is not just giving players of the critically-acclaimed and commercially successful role-playing game “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” an excellent treat with the impending release of the video game’s 2016 Game of the Year Edition on August 30.
The developer is also offering them 150 hours of open world adventures, which is a combined total of the original game plus its DLCs and updates, reports Hexus.
But just like in the original game, players will play as professional monster slayer Geralt of Rivia in “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” Game of the Year Edition.
In “Hearts of Stone” DLC they will ultimately face off against a ruthless bandit captain while in the “Blood and Wine” DLC, they will have to discover for themselves the terrifying secret of the beautiful Toussaint region.
The upcoming Game of the Year Edition of “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” shall also include the base game. In addition to the two major DLCs, it will also have every update and improvement ever released on the game.
The special edition of “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” just like its original version, shall also come to the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and the PC.
CD Projekt Red has not yet given the official price for “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” but Amazon is already making available for pre-order the Complete Edition for $49.99. The Complete Edition is actually the Game of the Year Edition of “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.”
Five years of hard work
Meanwhile, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, Game Director at CD Projekt Red, said that “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” is a result of five years of hard work that everyone at the game development company has put into creating a fitting conclusion to the story of Geralt, notes the PlayStation Blog.
He is also proud to say that the role-playing game has earned more than 800 awards including 250 Game of the Year honors, citing that the “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” is the most awarded video game last year.
He explained that the Complete Edition of the game includes all three chapters of Geralt’s final adventure. It’s a complete game full of action, exploration, difficult choices, and brutal consequences that will shape the world and hundreds of characters within it.
Tomaszkiewics also said that all of the free DLC packs that were released since the launch of the game were meant to thank players for their support and is already included in the Complete Edition of “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.”
It also includes new weapons and armor hidden in the world, a New Game+ mode that will further challenge the players’ monster-hunting skills, more Gwent cards, and additional outfits for Geralt’s companions.
He assured gamers that “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” Complete Edition truly offers the ultimate Witcher 3 experience wherever they are in the world.
Surpassing its predecessors in terms of sales
Since its release last year, “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” has amassed more than six million units sold, surpassing the feat of its predecessors, “The Witcher” and “The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.”
“The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” has been widely popular among game enthusiasts. The Polish game developer successfully brought the main character Geralt of Rivia and his unique set of friends to life with realistic voice acting, storytelling and excellent character development.
It has also been confirmed that “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” shall be Geralt’s final adventure, which was a big let-down to the millions of fans of the game around the world.
Fans of “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” have been expressing their gratitude to Polish game developer CD Projekt Red for coming out with a standalone Gwent game recently.
The game is officially titled “Gwent: The Witcher Card Game” and according to CD Projekt Red co-founder Marcin Iwinski, the game development company has taken all the heart and energy from fans of “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” and put it into the development of the stand-alone Gwent game.
