The Flash Season 3 to Focus on Grodd the Gorilla with a Multi-Episode Story Arc!

News about “The Flash” and its third season keeps coming in, and there is no shortage of information for the show’s fans. It looks like the producers are planning a lot for the new season, and they will likely mix things up a bit with some more unusual plot developments. All in all, it looks like the show will try to break out of some established patterns and become more unpredictable; it’s not clear if we should expect any major deviations from the original works that the show is based on, but it’s possible.

In season one, we saw a gorilla named Grodd, who will now be given more focus. There will be a two-part episode in season three revolving around Grodd, exploring his history in more detail, as well as giving us an interesting insight into Gorilla City. Fans of the original “The Flash” comics likely remember how the character was presented there, and his involvement with the King of Gorilla City, so it looks like this part of the story could play out in a very interesting manner.

The two-part episode may not be the only time Grodd is featured in this season either, so we should prepare to see the character a lot more. And, judging by the fact that the writers of the show are quite liberal with some of its plot point, we also expect that Grodd could deviate a lot from his original version. We have no idea how the writers plan on bringing him back into the story, but at least we know that Gorilla City will be in the center of it all.

Meanwhile, we’ve been given a glimpse at the new villain of the show, Savitar. It looks like the new bad guy won’t be brought on the screen immediately, and it will take some time before fans get to see him, so the beginning of the season will either follow a more relaxed pace, or it could focus on another more minor villain.

Our expectations are leaning towards the first option, as it’s likely that the writers of the show would want to take things easy for a while, and build up the tempo before they start throwing challenges in the faces of their characters. Especially if the new villain is supposed to be truly menacing and powerful, in which case he will benefit from some serious build-up.

Pacing is one of the things the producers of “The Flash” have been able to get right consistently since the show started, so we trust that they have some solid plans for the introduction of Savitar, and his integration with the overall plot. We don’t know if they will take his character in a different direction from what he used to be in the comic books, but he should at least share the same roots with the old Savitar. Apparently, he will still be based on a pilot from the Cold War, although his personality might be a bit different from what fans remember.

Not much is known about the character’s version in the TV show, not even who is going to play him. Even knowing the actor behind the villain could give us some hints about the kind of behavior that we can expect, but that’s probably why the producers have decided to keep this detail secret for now. We can’t blame them either, as there is a lot of interest on “The Flash” from many directions, and fans love to make up all sorts of crazy theories about the future of the show.
