The Kardashians are putting their famous name to a good cause. Last Friday, the popular family met with families of gun violence victims in support for the call to end gun-related incidents.
Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe along with their mom Kris Jenner and their younger sister Kendall attended a private lunch with people who have lost family members due to gun-related crimes.
The event was organized by Moms Demand Action and Everytown for Gun Safety, two organizations that call for gun control reform in the U.S.
Moms Demand Action is a grassroots movement of Americans who demand reasonable solutions to address the nation’s culture of gun violence while Everytown for Gun Safety is a movement of Americans working together to end gun violence and build safer communities.
The lunch with the family members of victims involved sharing of the tragic stories of how their loved ones were gunned down as well as the inspiring stories of how they continued living after that.
Kim Kardashian took to Instagram a group photo of their lunch date. In her caption, the reality star shares that she’s learned so much from listening to their stories. She adds that life is precious and taking away people’s lives should stop.
Kim also documented the whole meeting on her Snapchat. The 35-year-old mom of two snapped a photo of her ‘Not One More’ bracelet she was wearing.
Reports say that the event was also filmed and will be shown in a future episode of ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’.
Moms Demand Action founder Sharon Watts expressed her gratitude to the whole Kardashian family for supporting their call to end gun violence.
Erica Smegielski, whose lost her mom during the Sandy Hook shooting back in 2012 also shared a picture she took with Kendall and Kourtney on Twitter. Erica thanked the Kardashians for taking time from their busy schedule to hear their stories.
The recent events in America, specifically the Orlando nightclub shooting a few months ago, has received an alarming attention regarding the country’s laws on gun control.
Statistics say that on an average year, over 17,000 American children and teens are shot in murders, assaults, suicides and suicides attempts. The figure represents unintentional shootings or by police intervention.
Specifically, about 2,677 kids die from gun violence each year while 1,671 children and teens are murdered.
Kourtney also posted a photo of her twinning bracelet encouraging her fans to visit Everytown’s website to learn how they can act to end gun violence.
Khloe also posted some photos from the lunch meeting and shared that the event was enlightening and inspiring.
The 32-year-old also encouraged her fans to join the movement so everyone can live in peace and harmony in this world.
Kris and Kendall Jenner also used social media to spread their call for action. Seemingly absent from this was the family’s youngest, Kylie Jenner.
The Kardashian-Jenner clan is known to be outspoken about the issues the world is facing. The famous sisters have been posting their awareness of the tragic events happening all over the world.
Days after the Orlando nightclub shooting, Kylie shared a photo of the victims’ families on Instagram and called for an immediate action for these “nonsensical” things to stop.
The Kardashian-Jenner sisters were also involved in the increasing number of black Americans being killed because of racism and hate crimes. They also sent out their prayers when terror attacks recently happened in France and Turkey.
Kim, in particular, has been very vocal about the issue on gun violence. In June, Kim went on a rant about how several amendments of gun control failed in the Senate.

I would love to see video of the Kardashian crew explaining how ANYTHING that Moms Demands promotes would do ANYTHING to stop violent crime.
“With the Kardashians latest lunch date, fans have noted that it was nice seeing their family make headlines for something that creates a massive impact in many people’s lives.”
Massive impact? More like barely relevant.
“Moms Demand Action is a grassroots movement” that is bought and paid for by billionaire Mikey Bloomberg.
“increasing number of black Americans being killed because of racism and hate crimes” Well, that ain’t the main contributor by a long shot, as it were.
According to FBI stats, 50% of murders in America are black-on-black, with blacks 13% of the population. And according to HuffPo, the murder rate for Hispanics is twice that of non-black/Hispanic, with Hispanics 17% of the population.
The math is simple. With an overall homicide rate of 4.7 per 100K that works out to the following rates: Black 18; Hispanic 4.5; Non-black/Hispanic 2.2; Homicide rate in the UK? 1.2!
Oh yeah, because America always does as “Keeping up with the WhiteTrashians” tells them to do LOL
Ill give up my guns when Kim lets me sleep with her. Oh wait neither is going to happen. lol
