Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 on PS4 Updated with Balance and Visual Tweaks!

Treyarch have been hard at work on “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3”, as they just recently released brand new content for the game. Apart from that, the studio has been keeping the game bug-free, and they’re also constantly tweaking its balance to accommodate for recent trends in the community. So far, most players seem happy with the way guns and Specialists work, but there is still some small room for improvement here and there.

The update also made some changes to the “Zombies” mode of the game, mostly fixing game-breaking exploits and adjusting the balance in minor ways. Considering that the mode has always been an important part of the DLC released for the game, it’s good to see that Treyarch are maintaining it as much as the main game itself.

Two of the game’s Specialists have had their parameters adjusted, namely Outrider and Prophet. The former is now slightly better with her special skill, while Prophet’s beam has been made slightly smaller. We’ve read some interesting comments about Tempest in the recent weeks, and the community seems to see him as a bit of a controversial class. Still, his balance seems good enough for the time being, and the class isn’t being overused in any game mode.

Various weapons have had their statistics tweaked as well, and the changes are far too many to list off here. Some of the more notable ones include a buff for the Vesper and Garand, while the VMP has been made slightly worse.

Last but not least, we also have numerous tweaks on the game’s maps, mostly fixing bugs and removing spots that gave players too much of an advantage. Some exploits that have been circulating in the community quite a lot over the last few weeks have been fixed, so it looks like cheaters will have to find a new way to torment other players now. Looking at how active Treyarch have been in keeping the game bug-free though, it doesn’t look like they will have many more opportunities.

“Black Ops 3” is in a pretty good state at the moment, even though the game started off with a bit of criticism and controversy. Some players found the change in pace too much to take in at once, while others complained about the visual style, claiming that the game had become too colorful. In the end though, Treyarch not only managed to address some common complaints through constant updates and fixes, but they have also been maintaining a good connection with the community, engaging their users on important topics.

This is probably why they are so liked among the developers of the “Call of Duty” franchise. Right now, Treyarch are the favorite studio of many players, and it’s exactly their ongoing support and care for their products that has earned them this recognition. We don’t know if their next game will still be a “Black Ops” or a brand new franchise, but we trust that they will handle it with great style, judging by their current work on “Black Ops 3”.

Still, they will hopefully also learn a few lessons with regards to balancing and pay-to-win elements. The game drew a lot of criticism for the way its store works, and the inability to obtain certain weapons in a guaranteed fashion was a major blow to its reputation. Around the time the crossbow was released, players grew quite upset, forcing Treyarch to release some updates that addressed the new issues with the balance.
