Even after he retired from acting and went under the radar for some years, Macaulay Culkin was still very popular during his early 20s. This was confirmed no less by actress Mila Kunis, whom Macaulay Culkin dated from 2002 to 2010, during a recent interview with Howard Stern on his Sirius XM radio show.
Mila Kunis said that fans responded in a very abnormal way to Macaulay Culkin which is why it is very difficult to deal with the former “Home Alone” child actor every time they are in public together.
She said that Macaulay was huge because she cannot walk down the street with him. He always had a weird kind of attraction from his fans. They just screamed and they did not know how to react.
Fans of Kevin McCallister are way too overzealous that they seem not able to get over him at all despite the fact that “Home Alone” happened more than 10 years ago then.
The “Bad Moms” actress said that fan adulation to Macaulay Culkin was not a normal response to a celebrity, reports News.com.au.
Never thought of marriage
Howard Stern pulled off a tough question for Mila Kunis during the interview on his radio show when he asked if she has ever loved Macaulay Culkin enough to marry him.
Kunis said she does not know actually but she said that when they started dating when she was about 16, she already told her father that she does not believe in marriage.
In fact, she remembered herself saying that she would only get married when gay people are already allowed to get married, which is good as saying back then that it is not going to happen.
She was not shy at all to say to everyone that she had no plans to marry, which prompted Stern to assume that she was not really in love with Macaulay.
In her defense, Mila said that she already had the anti-marriage stance even before she and Macaulay Culkin started dating. The former “Home Alone” child actor obviously believes otherwise as he was married for four years with Rachel Miner before he started dating Kunis, notes Yahoo! Style.
Changing her perception
After breaking up with Macaulay Culkin and eventually meeting Ashton Kutcher in “The 70s Show,” Mila’s perception of marriage changed.
They tied the knot officially in July of last year although they have been together for more than three years then. They now have a nearly two-year-old daughter in Wyatt Isabelle and they are now expecting a second child as Mila Kunis is currently pregnant.
Meanwhile, Macaulay Culkin addressed the rumors of drug use that have hounded him for years. He said in a recent interview that he was not pounding six grand of heroine every month or whatever.
He said that the thing that bugged him was tabloids wrapping it all in a weird guise of concern. He told them that they are not trying to shift papers.
Incidentally, just like his six-year acting stint as a child star, Macaulay Culkin is planning to give up his short-lived singing career as well with his parody rock band known as The Pizza Underground.
He confirmed in a recent interview that the next album of The Pizza Underground, which parodies the song of the rock group The Velvet Underground, will be their group’s final music as they plan to retire for good thereafter.
Macaulay said that the group’s last album will be their gift to the world, citing that their final music masterpiece is intense because it has a children’s choir, and a 120-piece symphony.
The former “Home Alone” child superstar said that their last album is actually the other side of the coin as all of their stuff is like jingly-jangly and it is going to be a big, grand, lush sound.
He also said that it is essentially the end of the band, similar to what he said in a previous interview that he is essentially retired from acting.
