The rumors about the Google Nexus 7 2016 have been fairly consistent that the upcoming flagship smartphone of the American software company shall have two variants in the Sailfish and the Marlin.
While initial reports have indicated that the latest smartphone from Google shall be manufactured by Taiwanese tech giant HTC, there are now rumors saying that the variants are to be made by HTC and Huawei.
Google has yet to make any confirmation or denial of these new rumors but if it is true, then it is possible that one was commissioned to be manufactured by HTC and one was tapped for the production of Huawei, notes Mobile & Apps.
It is not yet known which from the Sailfish and the Marlin are to be made by HTC and also by Huawei, but given the two companies’ reputation in the smartphone industry, the high-specced variant should most likely be the workings of the Taiwanese firm while the lower-end model shall be made by Huawei.
A sneak peek of the smartphone
Technoconfigurations has created a 3D video of the Google Nexus 7 2016 smartphone that was leaked online and it showed the smartphone sporting an improved design with new metal and glass chassis.
The same footage showed that the latest Nexus smartphone shall consist of large glass piece on the back and will also feature slim and sleek look as compared to its earlier installment.
Google Nexus 7 2016 shall also feature many enhanced functionalities both in terms of hardware and software. It shall be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 4GB of RAM. It shall have internal storage options of 32GB and 128GB.
The Nexus 7 2016 Marlin shall sport a 5.5-inch screen and 2K AMOLED display while the Nexus 7 2016 Sailfish will feature a 5-inch 1080p display. But both smartphones shall exude the same camera specifications with a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera and 8-megapixel front-facing snapper.
The Marlin shall also have a 3,450 mAh battery while the Sailfish shall be powered by a 2,770 mAh battery.
More important among the rumors is the one saying that the Google Nexus 7 2016 shall come out of the box already loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat, the latest mobile operating system of Google. The Nexus 7 2016 is a Google handset so there is no other smartphone that can beat it to the draw when it comes to the release of the Android 7.0 Nougat.
In fact, reports have it that the Google Nexus 7 2016 would come out after the launch of the Android 7.0 Nougat next month but there is also a good chance that the two could come out at the same time, reports the PC Advisor.
Joint launching likely
There are those saying that the next Google mobile operating system is to be called as Android 7.0 Nougat but there are also those who are stating that it could be Android 7.0 Nutella.
Regardless of the official name of the next Google mobile operating system, the company’s flagship smartphone, the Google Nexus 7 2016, shall reportedly join the launching of the new Android.
There are reports saying that the beta testing phase of the operating system will be completed by the end of this month and it would probably be released next month.
The news has also paved the way for the rumors of the release date of the Google Nexus 7 2016, placing it in August as well.
However, some critics believe that August is too early for the release of the Android Nougat or Nutella and they believe that it would happen in October, giving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow the opportunity to complete its customary one-year market cycle.
