I am going to be the first to say that HTC has turned itself around over the last 2 years in the smartphone world. The company used to have mediocre smartphones that nobody wanted, but then all of a sudden, something changed and now it looks like more consumers are waiting just to see what the company is going to offer them next. The smartphone they are planning to offer next is coming with the “Hima” codename and is expected to arrive next spring.
The phone is going to be coming to the market with one of the fastest processor on the market today. Just a couple of days after reports that the Snapdragon 810 might be causing some delays, the HTC M9 “Hima” was reported to be coming with the same processor. Right now, there are no indications that the phone will be delayed, but that could change anytime from here until release day. HTC is looking to expand its smartphone family that already consists of large display, super fast smartphones and phablets.
The Snapdragon 810 processor is situated with four cores clocked at 2GHz and four more cores clocked at 1.5GHz, offering one of the fastest options in the smartphone game. By the time it is released in March of next year, there will be a couple of other high end smartphones powered by the same processor.
That 8-core processor gets paired up with a rumored 3GB of RAM and you are looking at one of the fastest smartphones on the market. With all of that speed there is no doubt that it will also run quite hot, so that will be an interesting challenge for HTC to overcome. It looks like HTC is going to keep the 5-inch 1080p display rather than bump it up to a 5.5-inch or a 6-inch like many have speculated before. That “smaller” display should make the 1080p resolution look even better when watching video or cruising through images.
HTC has been using an “Ultrapixel” design for the camera on the backside, but with this model is could be going away from that as reports are indicating that it could be going with the larger 20.7MP option. The front side camera will also get a bump in specs with a 13MP option and that is going to make for some great selfie action for sure. The battery should allow for all day use without charging and the Android 5.0 Lollipop software is expected to be pre-installed along with HTC Sense 7 user interface when it arrives.
