Now that “Game of Thrones” Season 6 is through over at HBO, The History Channel can now heave a sigh of great relief and start the red carpet rollout for the midseason premiere of Season 4 of the Canadian-Irish historical drama series “Vikings.”
While the network has yet to announce a specific airing date for the popular TV series, reports have been fairly consistent that it will happen in July.
However, what seems to be giving the viewers excitement is the likely confrontation of King Ragnar Lothbrok, played by Travis Fimmel, of Kattegat with his sons who were featured during the spring finale of the TV series in April.
While the previous seasons only featured his son Bjorn Ironside, played by Alexander Ludwig, the 10th and midseason finale episode of Season 4 showed his other sons who have resented him because he abandoned all of them to go in raid Paris including Ubbe, played by Jordan Patrick Smith, Hvitsek, played by Marco Islo, Sigurd Snake-in-the-Eye, played by David Lindstron, and Ivar the Boneless, played by Alex Hogh Andersen, details the Parent Herald.
Reports have it that Ragnar will take full stock of his fully-grown sons who are now famous in their own right.
Ubbe is now a leader in Kattegat while Hvitsek may seem like the quiet son but he shall reportedly be revealing his strength in the second half of Season 4.
Sigurd Snake-in-the-Eye shall reportedly give troubles to Ragnar but it would be Ivar the Boneless, whom his brothers describe as a lunatic, who shall win Kattegat because of his sly strength.
Up for grabs
It seems clear at this point that the second half of Season 4 of “Vikings” would show that the leadership of Kattegat will be up for grabs following the decision of Ragnar to make another Vikings assault in Paris and was forced to retreat to an unknown land and abandon his post for a long time.
So upon his return to Kattegat, Ragnar was met with resentment from his sons by Aslaug, played by Alyssa Sutherland, notes the Christian Today.
While all of Ragnar’s sons have their desires to become the next King of Kattegat, it is Ivar the Boneless who could cause the most damage to the Danish throne because of his seeming lunacy.
Ivar the Boneless shall reportedly be taking the lead in the second half of Season 4 of “Vikings.” The basis of the reports is the latest trailer of “Vikings” where Ivar was greatly featured as he struggles to become the great leader that he was meant to be.
The most feared Viking of all
King Ragnar was also seen in the trailer saying that his son Ivar the Boneless will be known around the world and everyone will fear him.
Based on history, Ivar the Boneless has conquered every land in England apart from Wessex where King Alfred rules. It was also King Alfred who wiped every Vikings out of England according to history.
Thus, speculations are rife that the second half of Season 4 might also feature the war between Ivar the Boneless and King Alfred. Some critics, however, think that such plot is too ahead of the story even from a historical point of view, indicating that it could happen either in Season 5 or Season 6, if there would be one.
Latest reports have it that the production and cast members of “Vikings” have already completed filming for the remaining 10 episodes of the fourth season of the TV series.
Interestingly, Travis Fimmel actually completed filming for the 10 episodes for the second half of Season 4, indicating that his character may still survive towards the end and could still move on to Season 5.
Or it also possible that his character may finally meet his demise towards the end and confirm rumors at the start of Season 4 that King Ragnar Lothbrok of Kattegat will meet his end so that actor Travis Fimmel would finally get his graceful exit from the show.

My son would be perfect to be ragnals young brother he looks so much like him and attertude he is a pure jem ( just a break he needs)
