‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Gets a Third Villain Character in Bokeem Woodbine; But Details of Role Yet to be Confirmed!

After a slow casting start, it seems that Marvel Studios has gone full blast with its effort to complete the cast of “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”

A total of seven actors were added to the cast of “Spider-Man: Homecoming” during the last seven days topped off by Bokeem Woodbine from the TV series “Fargo.” Woodbine shall reportedly play the third villain role in the movie following Michael Keaton’s The Vulture and Logan Marshall-Green.

Woodbine was taken in by the movie following Hannibal Buress of “Neighbors,” Abraham Atta of “No Nation,” Michael Mando of “Better Call Saul,” Isabella Amara, Jorge Lendenborg Jr., and J.J. Totah.

It has been announced earlier that “Spider-Man: Homecoming” shall have Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Zendaya as Michelle, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Michael Keaton as The Vulture, Donald Glover, Michael Barbieri, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Kenneth Choi, and Martin Starr.

Marshall-Green was also taken in as a bad guy soon after but there were no details yet as to which villain character he shall be playing.

However, according to Cinema Blend, Marshall-Green could play the villain character The Tinkerer or Woodbine could take on the role of Shocker or the Scorpion.

But Woodbine could also be The Tinkerer and Marshall-Green could be Shocker or the Scorpion or simply a secondary villain as a corrupt and no-good corporate figure. It is expected that details would be more available as filming continue to progress for “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”

Woodbine was last seen in Season 2 of “Fargo.” He also appeared in Vin Diesel’s “Riddick” and the remake of “Total Recall” that starred Collin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, and Jessica Biel released in 2012, notes The Hollywood Reporter.

A definitive Peter Parker

Marvel Comics creator Stan Lee lauded Tom Holland in his cameo appearance in “Captain America: Civil War,” citing that the young British actor is a definitive Peter Parker, reports Screen Rant.

Filming has already begun for “Spider-Man: Homecoming” and some set photos already made it online.

There was a photo of Peter Parker’s new world and a logo for his high school called as The Midtown School of Science and Technology, and his fellow classmates in action.

There was also an image of Marin Starr who looks to be playing as a school teacher while Laura Harrier and Abraham Atta playing as Peter Parker’s fellow students.

Given that it is a Jon Watts film based on a John Hughes’ young generation theme, Peter’s classmates and school faculty are going to have more prominent roles in the film than any of the previous “Spider-Man” films.

A very capable director

Jon Watts is directing “Spider-Man: Homecoming” based on the script by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein.

Watts’ last film “Cop Car” starring Kevin Bacon, was an indie film hit that helped grab the attention of Marvel bosses on the directing capability of the “Spider-Man: Homecoming” director.

There have been previous reports that Spider-Man shall have a mind-blowing costume for his stand-alone film so the costume he wore in “Captain America: Civil War,” which was reminiscent of the superhero’s previous get-up is not the thing that the producers have been trumpeting about.

spider man

According to rumors, it will be Tony Stark who will give Peter Parker an iron spider suit but that remains to be seen.

From the “Captain America: Civil War” movie, Peter Parker thanked Tony Stark for giving him a new costume before their fight with the other Avengers.

Reports also have it that Tony Stark shall also be supplying Spider-Man the classic Web Wings as seen in the comics which he can deploy as needed.
