A supposed leaked video of “Attack on Titan” Season 2 that was posted on YouTube recently had fans of the popular Japanese anime TV series excited as they have been waiting for the second installment since the Season 1 finale aired in September 2013.
Based on the unofficial video, many fans are assuming that “Attack on Titan” Season 2 shall highlight the war between the Titans that had infiltrated the wall and the 104th Trainees Squad, details Game & Guide.
But it could just be a scene for one episode of “Attack on Titan” Season 2 and not the main plotline of the anime series.
There are also reports saying that the second season of “Attack on Titan” will also show the rebellion of humanity over the bent ways of the king and his eventual downfall.
Releasing in 2nd quarter 2017?
While the Japanese network Mainichi Broadcasting System has yet to make an official announcement or statement regarding “Attack on Titan” Season 2, there are now reports saying that the anime would premiere in the second quarter of next year.
If and when that happens, it actually took the TV series almost four years before its next installment is aired on the small screen.
Incidentally, as a result of the leaked trailer, fans have already started deriving their conclusions and possible storyline for “Attack on Titan” Season 2, notes Movie News Guide.
The leaked trailer also showed Hange very surprised to discover a Titan’s head protruding outside a wall. Pastor Nick advises Hange to kill the Titan at once which her troops did. However, Hange, became doubtful about the real identity of the Titan and how it managed to stick its head on the wall. She seems intent on probing the motives of Pastor Nick too.
When Hange asked Pastor Nick, the latter said that he was a busy man and needs to take care of his people, who are all church followers.
It was not an explanation and Hange knew that he was lying to her but she did not get a straight answer from Pastor. She also knew that she could not kill a pastor even if he turned out to be a traitor.
The noble Reiss family
According to reports, “Attack on Titan” Season 2 shall feature new characters including Captain Kenny Ackerman, Uri Reiss, Rod Reiss, Freida Reiss, and the Beast Titan.
The second season’s plotline shall revolve around the king meeting the noble Reiss family. Based on the manga source material, Uri Reiss is Rod’s younger brother and the king of mankind.
In the latter part of the story, he gives his position to his daughter, Frieda Reiss.
Despite the leaked trailer and the rumored plotline of the highly anticipated anime, “Attack on Titan” Season 2 is expected to hit the small screen next year at the earliest.
The first season of “Attack on Titan” was aired on the Mainichi Broadcasting System from April 7 to September 29, 2013, before it was re-aired in several local channels in Japan including Tokyo MX, FBS, TOS, HTB, TVA, and BS11.
Since then, fans have been waiting for the second season of “Attack on Titan.” From a planned release date of 2015, it was moved to this year. Now, it seems unlikely that a 2016 release date for the Japanese anime is possible.
Latest reports have it that the premiere of “Attack on Titan” is set to be aired next year. There are even rumors saying that the TV series could air as early as January next year.
It has been reported that the cause of the delay had something to do with the TV series waiting for the manga version to complete four story arcs first before it gets aired.
