2015 will be an exciting years of the “Batman” franchise, as “Batman: Arkham Knight” is scheduled to come out in a few months – and the developers haven’t been shy to show off some of the game’s more exciting features. A new gameplay video was just released this week, showing off the game’s beautiful rendering engine and smooth gameplay, but more importantly, it shows a good deal of the all new Batmobile.
The video’s general premise is that Batman is sneaking through the Joker’s original place of “birth” – the infamous chemical plant – dealing with the Arkham Knight, Scarecrow and their henchmen along the way. Other than the Batmobile, the video doesn’t seem to show off any specific new gameplay features, but it does a great job in continuing what was started in the first part of the “Ace Chemicals Infiltration” trailer trilogy, and showcases the game’s overall polished state and attention to detail.
It’s indeed quite impressive that the new “Batman” can already be shown running so smoothly even though there’s still a good half a year before it hits the market, but this could be easily explained if one considers that the rest of the game’s levels aren’t in such a polished state and still need a lot of work. In addition, the gameplay shown in the trailers is in a controlled environment, being played by the developers themselves – it’s likely that there are still lots of bugs behind the scenes which gamers don’t get to see in the short video. Last but not least, the trailer doesn’t show any “actual” gameplay, as the camera angles are all scripted, but since reports indicate that the video uses the game’s native rendering engine, it’s still a good demonstration of what players can expect from the final product.
In any case, there has been no indication of any possible delays in the development at this stage, and it seems that the June 2015 release date is going to happen, unless something unexpected occurs within the studio. Fans have been eager to get in the shoes of Batman yet again for a long time, and there are a lot of eyes on the new installment in the series.
And the studio behind the new game seems to be handling the title more than okay, as it’s obvious that they’re putting some serious effort into making this a proper Batman game, enjoyed by both old fans of the series, as well as newcomers who’re not familiar with the previous games. Readers from the latter category might still want to sit down and play the complete series at some point though, as the progress from one game to the next is definitely something to be appreciated.
