The seventh episode of Season 6 of the HBO hit series “Game of Thrones” will air on June 6 and because of the extreme popularity and huge fan base of the show, most viewers are already looking forward to the massive battle that shall highlight the current season.
Episode 7 is entitled “The Broken Man” and the previous reports were saying that it would be Gregor Clegane, also known as the Hound, who shall be returning after completely missing Season 5.
However, based on the trailer, it seems that the returning character is going to be Brendan ‘ The Blackfish’ Tully, who has reportedly taken over Riverrun from the men of Walder Frey.
The Blackfish is an uncle of Catelyn Stark and the last time he was seen in “Game of Thrones” was during the Red Wedding in Season 3 where Catelyn and Robb Stark and his pregnant wife were killed. All the men of the House Stark were massacred during the Red Wedding but The Blackfish managed to escape.
A battle royal in the making
During the previous sixth episode of “Game of Thrones” Season 6, Walder Frey told two of his sons that they are going to use Edmure Tully, who was the one who got married to one of Frey’s daughters during the Red Wedding, as a leverage to defeat The Blackfish and get back Riverrun.
Then there’s also Jamie Lannister who has been commanded by King Tommen to go to Riverrun and retake it from The Blackfish during the past episode.
This means that Walder Frey’s sons will be teaming up with Jamie Lannister to get back Riverrun and it would be interesting to find out how Jon Snow and Sansa Stark will figure in this particular development as they work to unite all the bannermen and houses in the North that still support the House Stark as they prepare to retake Winterfell from Ramsay and House Bolton, details the International Business Times.
It is expected that the battle royal between House Stark and House Bolton for the right to occupy Winterfell will be the biggest yet for the show and the next couple of episodes means that Jon Snow and Sansa Stark shall be successful in getting all the players in place for some epic fighting.
Their first stop is the Vale and that seems quite easy to convince as Peter ‘Littlefinger’ Baelish seems to have convinced the almost mindless Robin Tully to join the Starks and the fight against House Bolton for Winterfell.
Hero versus hero
Based on the episode 7 synopsis, Jamie Lannister shall be confronting a hero and the reports back then said that it shall be the character to be played by guest actor Ian McShane. It is clear now that the hero is none other than The Blackfish.
With Jamie Lannister being removed from the Kingsguard by King Tommen, his own son, he will try to retake Riverrun from The Blackfish in order to fill the void that has been left by Tommen’s rejection of his services, reports Newsweek.
It would really be interesting to see another epic fighting in “Game of Thrones” because it has been quite absent over the past six episodes of Season 6.
Nearly all of the killings were one-sided so fans are now asking for some good old “Game of Thrones” duel or epic battle.
The episode 7 synopsis also says that North is reminded and that would actually be the goal of Jon Snow and Sansa Stark as they prepare their battle royal with Ramsay and House Bolton.
Sansa is expected to explain and defend her choice of marrying Ramsay to the different houses in the North and contribute her character evolution, making her look more like her mother Catelyn Stark.
