Scott McCall, played by actor Tyler Posey, has never been lucky in love in the American supernatural teen drama TV series “Teen Wolf” on MTV.
Back in Season 3, his girlfriend Allison, played by Crystal Reed, died in his arms. In the recently-concluded Season 5 of “Teen Wolf,” Scott seemed to have found a new leading lady in Kira, played by Arden Cho. But it turned out to be short-lived.
During the Season 5 finale, Kira was seen heading to the desert to join the Skin Walkers in hopes of controlling her kitsune powers. Her decision also meant that she is leaving her boyfriend Scott behind and all her other friends in Beacon Hills.
Unfortunately, Arden Cho will no longer be returning for Season 6 of “Teen Wolf” when it premieres on MTV in the second half of this year. That certainly quashed fan hopes that Scott will finally get his fresh beginning on love.
Reports are saying that there is a good chance that Scott will be spending the next season single and still hoping to find his new love interest instead of jumping into another relationship, reports Zap2It.
Possible love interest for Scott
The outlet also enumerated possible love interest for Scott in the upcoming sixth season of “Teen Wolf” including Lydia, played by Holland Roden, Malia, played by Shelley Hennig, Allison, and someone new entirely.
Scott and Lydia have not had anything resembling sexual tension in the past although their friendship has stayed the course over the years. Some are saying that with the right set of circumstances, it could lead to something romantic.
But it could only happen if the series creators would risk fan backlash since Lydia has always been identified with Stiles, played by Dylan O’Brien. Not unless O’Brien leaves the show for good as insinuated recently.
Scott and Malia happen to have shared interest particularly on having estranged parents plus the fact that both of them were unceremoniously dumped into a supernatural lifestyle they never wanted. But it looks like that is all there is to it.
Seeing Scott and Allison will be a long shot because Allison is dead unless the creators agree to bring her back to life.
The last possibility for Scott to getting a romantic interest in “Teen Wolf” is if someone new comes into his life in Season 6. The development would sure to excite fans of the hit TV series.
Lydia going back to the past
In addition to the speculations about Scott finding a new love life in Season 6, there are also rumors saying that Lydia shall go back in the past.
The rumors about Lydia going back to the past stemmed from leaked set photos showing Holland Roden sporting an 80s hairstyle.
Series creator Jeff Davis confirmed that Lydia will go back in the past but only in the form of a flashback. He also disclosed that the flashback will happen in 1987 but he did not disclose the relevance of the flashback to Lydia.
There seems to be a bit of bad news on the upcoming Season 6 of “Teen Wolf” on MTV as there are rumors saying that actor Dylan O’Brien may actually end up leaving the show.
O’Brien plays the role of Stiles Stilinski in the popular MTV series and previous reports before the cast and crew of the show began filming recently alluded that the actor’s character in the show would have a major arc in Season 6.
The young actor apparently has become busy as of late because, in addition to filming for “Teen Wolf” Season 6, he is also doing work on the film “The Maze Runner: The Death Club,” which is also in production now.
O’Brien is also in talks to play the character Mitch Rapp in the movie adaptation of “American Assassin” which would begin filming soon.
Given his hectic schedule in those current two and soon-to-be three projects, the actor may have a hard time juggling his time so the likelihood of O’Brien giving up his spot on “Teen Wolf” Season 6 is very high.
