’19 Kids and Counting’ Spinoff Showcasing the Different Parenting Styles of Jill and Jessa from Parents Jim Bob and Michelle!

The “19 Kids and Counting” spinoff TV series “Jill and Jessa: Counting On” has actually evolved from a three-part special last year to a full-fledged TV show beginning in March this year and it will be moving on to its Season 1 finale on TLC on May 3.

While both Jill and Jessa Duggar were raised well by their parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, the spinoff show actually focuses on their different parenting styles especially now that both of them have their respective families and each having a son of their own.

In a recent interview, Jessa Duggar Seewald admits that she would not be completely following the footsteps of her parents as far as her parenting style is concerned, beginning with her firstborn son Spurgeon Elliott.

Jessa also admitted however that she will still adapt the ones that allowed all of them 19 siblings to grow up well but she is definitely not having a big family like her parents did.

She said that she and husband Ben talked about having more than one kid, and shall even go to great lengths of adopting another one in the future, but they will not be raising a big family which she feels is quite a big challenge, notes the Parent Herald.

Supportive of Jessa’s decision

But instead of being offended by Jessa’s decision not to follow her and Jim Bob’s parenting style, Michelle is ever supportive of her daughter’s plan on how to raise her own family.

Jessa also appreciates her mother’s support toward such end and said that it is the beauty of the individual family because no one is identical.

She explained that there will be variations with little things here and there but the foundational goals of it all remain the same, which is to raise kids to love God and be a blessing to others.

While she has not spoken anything about it, it is likely that the principles of courtship that she and Ben had to go through before they got married shall also apply with her son and his siblings eventually, which is a Duggar mark in the first place.

A difficult time with their son

Meanwhile, the “Jill and Jessa: Counting On” TV series also featured Jill Duggar Dillard having a hard time raising up her firstborn son Israel with husband Derick.

In a recent interview, she disclosed that Israel’s disposition as a child has changed a little bit and he is reportedly displaying some rebellious behavior.

Jill said that Israel has developed a little more of an attitude recently to tell his parents that he does not like certain things, which is actually typical of most tots, notes Design & Trend.

Jill and Derick are currently based in El Salvador while doing their missionary work and they had brought along Israel, who recently celebrated his first birthday.

The young Duggar mother said that she believes that growing up in El Salvador is good for Israel because it allows him to experience different cultures at a young age.

She shares that Izzy, as they prefer to call Israel, is a reflection of her and Derick. While she admits that it is hard to tell which among them will Israel be like when he grows up, Jill says his son is a lot like both of them since they were both pretty good babies when they were little.

Jill is also proud to say that Israel is a very cute baby that she loves watching him giggle anytime he is tickled in the belly. She says that her son has a big and beautiful smile that usually melts all their hearts.

Incidentally, rumors are rife that Jill may already be pregnant with her second child but according to sources, that will be made officially known during the Season 1 finale of “Jill and Jessa: Counting On” on TLC on May 3.

Meanwhile, there have been reports early this year that other than Jill and Jessa, who already have their own family reality TV series after “19 Kids and Counting” was cancelled last year because of the Josh Duggar scandal, Jana and Jinger are reportedly being groomed for another spinoff reality TV series.

During the three-part specials of “Jill and Jessa: Counting On” which was eventually turned into a full TV series, Jana and Jinger made their mark as they discussed at length their feelings regarding the scandal that shook their famous family.

The two sisters have actually been hailed for standing out among the drama as the most sincere members of the extended Duggar family.

As both Jana and Jinger are still single, speculations are rife that they might be considered for their own reality TV series where they can highlight what it is like to be a single woman looking for love in a strict and religious home.
