The premiere episode of Season 6 of the HBO hit series “Game of Thrones” that aired on April 25 showed that Jon Snow, played by Kit Harrington, was still a corpse.
However, he has been taken in by his very few loyal allies in Castle Black in a room and locked themselves up for fear of being butchered by Ser Alliser Thorne and the men of the Night Watch. They were in the room along with Ser Davos, referred to once by Stanis Baratheon as the Onion Knight, and the Red Woman, Melisandre.
Towards the end of the episode, it was shown that Melisandre was actually an old woman and she is being kept young by her ruby necklace. When she removed it, she turned into a very old woman before laying beside the corpse of Jon Snow.
It is not clear if it was part of her plan to revive or resurrect Jon Snow from the dead but most of the speculations going around are saying that even if Melisandre raises Jon Snow again from the dead, it still does not discount the fact that they are still outnumbered almost 10 to 1 by the men of Ser Alliser Thorne.
There are 40 men behind Ser Alliser Thorne while there are only four people alive and one dead in the locked room. They had another one early in the episode but he went out and he most likely called on the Wildings, who owe their lives to Jon Snow, for reinforcement.
It is likely that before the night sets in, which was the deadline set by Ser Alliser on Ser Davos and company to open the door and surrender, the Wildings would have already arrived and rescued the men in the locked room.
The only question remaining is whether Jon Snow would already be alive by then or still dead. If he is still a corpse, then it is likely that Melisandre will be given time to resurrect him until he finally rises.
Who shall be returning home?
The second episode of “Game of Thrones” Season 6 is entitled “Home” and the big question among fans and viewers is who among the main characters of the hit TV series shall be returning home.
Based on the synopsis of the upcoming episode to air on May 1, Bran Stark shall be training with the Three-Eyed Raven. Over at King’s Landing, Jaime Lannister will be advising King Tommen. Further at Mereen, Tyrion Lannister is asking for a good news on their missing Queen.
And over at Winterfell, Ramsay Bolton proposes a plan to overrun Castle Black and retrieve Sansa Stark and Theon Greyjoy. It shall also feature Balon Greyjoy in the Iron Isles after he and daughter Yara learned that Theon had already escaped the Boltons, details The Independent of UK.
The only characters who can possibly return home in this sense are Theon Greyjoy, assuming he convinces Sansa, Brienne, and Pod to head to the Iron Isles instead of Castle Black because Ramsay for sure expected them to head to the Night Watch, all of them unaware that Jon Snow is dead.
The other possible main character who can return home is Bran Stark, who can do so either through flashbacks or his visions of the future.
The other dark horse bets are Daenerys Targaryen, who might eventually be rescued by her prodigal dragon from the Dothraki tribe of Khal Moro or it could be Jon Snow himself who will return home to his life.
Arya Stark is out of the question as she is still in Braavos, blind and being regularly beaten by a stick, as part of her punishment from the House of Black and White.
