British actor Theo James has become one of the most popular actors today and it is mostly because of “The Divergent” movie series where he was paired with American actress Shailene Woodley.
Every time there is an article online with regards to him and Shailene, it almost always gets viral in just a short time. In fact, their rumored dating has been a hot item on the internet ever since the first film “Divergent” was shown in March 2014.
Subsequently, the second movie of the franchise entitled “Insurgent” was released in March last year. This year, the third film entitled “The Divergent Series: Allegiant” was released to global cinemas also last March.
However, it was considered a box-office disappointment after it earned ‘only’ $151.8 million because the film was produced with a budget of $110 million. It is also the lowest box-office output among the three films based on the novel series by Veronica Roth.
The stars of the movie series actually attribute the box-office failure of the third film to rushed production, notes the Parent Herald.
Despite the box-office disappointment of “The Divergent Series: Allegiant,” Theo James remains upbeat as his popularity as an actor has not wavered one bit considering that he has a lot on his plate right now in terms of acting assignments.
He even joked that after the fourth and final movie of the series entitled “Ascendant,” to be shown on June 9, 2017, he will consider doing adult films. He was quoted as saying that he will definitely do porn but it would be a classy porn with long storylines, eliciting laughs from his interviewer.
Taking things seriously and professionally
Meanwhile, Theo James was recently interviewed by Forbes for his recent partnership with Hugo Boss and he was asked about the best piece of career advice he has ever received as an actor.
James candidly pointed out to underselling and overdelivering as two of the sound advice he got. He explained that he does not want to push too much in terms of putting a price on his talent or overpromising on a work which he cannot really deliver.
He also cited that it is also important to take things seriously and act professionally in all things he is doing as a celebrity, notes Forbes.
However, he said that he also find time to relax and do the things he wants whenever he is off the camera.
James also talked about his endorsement for Boss the Scent when he explained that when he endorses something, he carefully thinks about it. He said that any celebrity worth their reputation would want to endorse something that is decent, and also reflects a little bit of themselves.
He said that Boss the Scent was quite understated, broad, and clean which is why it sparked his interest when an endorsement deal was offered to him.
James also said that when he endorses, he also plays a different character when doing the TV spots. It is actually more of his actual self but it’s also part of the character he wants the public to see and know.
When asked about his favorite fragrance brand, he nonchalantly said Hugo Boss along with a hearty laugh. He later said that in terms of watches, there’s a brand called Shinola, which is Detroit made that he really likes because it is a solid brand that is high on quality.
Not much on material possessions
He also confirmed reports that he does not place huge importance on material possessions but if he would be given the opportunity to make a worthy splurge, he would spend it on classic cars which he considers as his weakness. He disclosed that his fantasy car is an Aston Martin DB4.
In another interview, the 31-year-old British actor also talked about how he accidentally got the role of Tobias ‘Four’ Eaton in the “Divergent” movie franchise.
He recounted that he was not originally planning to go to the audition but decided to do so because he had nothing better to do at that time after his flight got canceled.
