5 Seconds of Summer have been extremely busy lately, as their popularity has been at an all-time high, and with that, the band’s schedule has been quite tightly packed. Trying to split their time between recording new material and touring, while also giving the media enough attention, they’ve apparently been finding it quite difficult to sit down and relax. At the same time, their hard work has definitely been paying off – this year has so far been very productive for them, involving multiple awards.
It’s interesting to see that the boys still haven’t let their fame take over their emotions, however, as they still present themselves as quite down to earth, and are always eager to talk to fans, open themselves up and discuss the more unusual aspects of their careers. In addition, Ashton Irwin stated that ever since he has started touring with the rest of the band’s members, he’s come to appreciate every opportunity he gets to stay at home and sleep in his own bed.
All members of 5 Seconds of Summer present themselves as just regular boys who’ve managed to strike luck with their playing, avoiding the “young rock star” mentality that seems to get into the heads of many successful musicians their age. They seem to be quite aware of their situation, on the other hand, but are treading carefully when talking about themselves to the media.
Luke Hemmings has recently revealed that he might not be too happy with how fast things were moving in the beginning, however. In an interview, he was asked whether he regrets not finishing school, to which he responded that he wasn’t thinking ahead at that time. It doesn’t seem like his lack of proper formal education has been affecting his success in any way, but it’s understandable why he would feel displeased with himself about the situation. On the other hand, there’s nothing really getting in the musician’s way of finishing school at some point, and it’s likely that he’ll go through it sooner or later, given his statements.
However, fans have had mixed feelings over this prospect. The common sentiment is that, on one hand, any true fan would want to see their favorite stars achieving the things that make them happy in their lives; on the other, if Luke Hemmings does decide to step back from his music career and focus on his studying for a year or two, this would mean a period without any new releases from 5SOS. Alternatively, Hemmings could find a way to balance his studying with his playing, although this could be a difficult prospect, considering the amount of touring that the band is seeing nowadays.

omg, luke its okay, just do whatever makes you happy :D
