Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Could Introduce Mobile Version of Windows 10!

Microsoft’s Surface tablets have been quite popular, despite the mixed initial reception. Some users were concerned about the high price, however considering the impressive specifications that each Surface typically has, that price tends to be more than justified. And now, there are rumors that Microsoft are preparing to announce a new, refined version of the tablet, with various new improvements – among which, allegedly, is an all new mobile Windows 10.

This would not be surprising, as Windows 8 already has a mobile counterpart – two, in fact, if Windows Phone is counted. Windows RT is visually identical to the desktop version of the operating system, but is optimized for a different set of processors, and is somewhat more limited in functionality. If the rumors are true, the tablet version of Windows 10 could follow a similar path.

However, such a release would conflict with the way Microsoft have been handling the Surface line previously, as these expensive high-end tablets traditionally come with the standard edition of Windows 8 (and 8.1), not the limited RT one. Microsoft could announce and release Windows 10 RT at the same time as the announcement of their new tablet though, and this is the most popular theory so far.

The new Surface Pro 4 is rumored to be bigger and more advanced in its specifications than its predecessor. The rumors talk about a 14” and a 13” version, although the tablet will retain its overall visual style. It’s not known if the increased dimensions will result in a heavier device, as the previous Surface models have not been the lightest tablets on the market. A 14” screen size brings the Surface Pro 4 closer to a laptop than a tablet (even though the device is technically a mixture of both), and it could turn out to be more useful for heavy office work on the go.

It’s also not yet known if Microsoft will retain the same pricing for the Surface Pro 4, although it’s expected that this will be the case – and at the same time, buyers who don’t care about having the latest version of Windows might get a chance to get their hands on a Surface Pro 3 for less money. All of this should become clear soon, when Microsoft decide to make the official announcement. If the Surface Pro 4 is indeed bigger and more powerful on the inside, it could be an interesting entry on the market for Microsoft, as it will likely be a very attractive offer for business users. The Surface Pro 3 was already quite popular in this area of the market, but it didn’t seem to meet Microsoft’s expectations fully.
