‘Attack on Titan’ Season 2 to See Commander Erwin Smith Discovering About the King’s Identity!

Season 2 of the Japanese anime TV series “Attack on Titan” is set to premiere in the second half of this year or if the manga source material created by Hajime Isayama would already have two story arcs ahead of the show’s plotlines.

According to speculations, Commander Erwin Smith will find out about the king’s real identity so he would work on overthrowing him, notes the International Business Times of India.

There are also rumors saying that the Reiss family will also discover for themselves that they can turn into Titans. Other members of the team who have the power to turn into Titans include Ymir, Reiner Braun, and Bertolt.

The heroes shall reportedly be surprised when they find out that Reiner and Bertolt are actually the Armored Titan and the Colossal Titan, respectively, who broke the wall.

There are also reports saying that Ymir, Reiner, and Braun will abduct Eren in Season 2 and while trying to save him, Commander Smith will lose his arm that will force him to retire from the job. Eren Yeager might also use his power to identify the coordinates to control the Titans in Season 2.

“Attack on Titan” Season 1 covered a total of 34 chapters from the manga source material that consisted of four story arcs, including “The Fall of Shiganshina,” “104th Trainees Squad,” “Battle of the Trost District,” and “The Female Titan.”

Resumption of production

Production for “Attack on Titan” Season 2 has already begun sometime last year but it was halted eventually since the manga source material still needed to get ahead with two more story arcs, notes Yibada.

According to reports, there is also a possibility that the anime series may not totally copy every scene of its manga version.

However, there are also reports saying that what fans read on the manga will most likely be what they will see in the anticipated sequel.

The second season of “Attack on Titan” has been expected as early as 2014, immediately after its Season 1 ended.

Back then, the announcement was that Season 2 of “Attack on Titan” could possibly come out in the second half of 2016. But it is still a few months to go before the second half of the year sets in but there is still no official confirmation or word from the creator or the producers regarding the exact release date of the return of the show on the small screen.

Hints of a new season

The best indication of an upcoming season of a TV series is an official trailer or teaser, but unfortunately, up until this time, there is none yet for “Attack on Titan.” Most of the reports about the TV series are from fan speculations and rumors swirling wildly on the internet.

Reports have it that there is a standing commitment between mangaka Hajime Isayama and anime director Tetsuro Araki and that they have both agreed that in order for the show to continue, the original “Shingeki no Kyojin” manga will have to be at least four storylines ahead of the climax of Season 1.

Given such condition, the “Attack on Titan” development team will have to wait a bit longer to continue with the anime story since “Shingeki no Kyojin” manga is slowly and steadily progressing.

As it is, the manga source material is ahead by only two story arcs of the Season 1 finale of “Attack on Titan.”

So while waiting for the TV series to premiere later this year, fans and viewers can quench their thirst for “Attack on Titan” by playing the video game, which was also based on the manga and the show.

If the anime remains faithful to the source material, “Attack on Titan” Season 2 will see Eren Yaeger and the remaining members of their squad continue their battle with the Titans.

It is also speculated that Season 2 of the anime TV series shall be more action-packed than the pilot season.
