Episode 20 of Season 9 the American long-running sitcom “The Big Bang Theory” that aired on CBS on April 7 showed Sheldon’s uncontrolled blabbering causing married couple Leonard and Penny to fight.
Having been too drunk to his senses, Sheldon disclosed to Penny that Leonard has been keeping a secret bank account because his friend believes that Penny’s credit card debt was too much.
That surely riled up Penny and she confronted Leonard right way about it. As Leonard was attempting to pacify and control the emotions of his wife, Penny also confessed to her husband that she hates her job.
Because of what Sheldon did, Leonard, quite naturally, will still be angry at him in the next episode of “The Big Bang Theory” Season 9 to air on April 21.
Sheldon and Leonard have been the best of friends since the first season of “The Big Bang Theory” but for the first time in a long while, they will be at loggerheads with one another and will even engage in a heated debate, reports the Lawyer Herald.
Dividing the group into two camps
The argument between Sheldon and Leonard will actually divide their friends into two camps depending on whose side each will be favoring in the debate.
Based on the promotional photos of episode 21 of “The Big Bang Theory” Season 9, the two camps that form out of the group stay in different rooms.
Sheldon shall be joined by Penny, Raj and Stuart while Leonard will have Amy, Bernadette, and Howard.
Amy shall also express to Leonard her reservations about the division because the roommate arrangement seems to make Penny and Sheldon so close, notes the Christian Today.
Episode 21 is officially titled “The Viewing Party” and the synopsis stated that everyone is going to have to choose sides when a petty argument between Leonard and Sheldon erupts into a heated fight during the group get-together.
Resolving the argument
While it appears that the argument between Sheldon and Leonard is going to be endless, the petty quarrel and the differing opinions of the opposing sides shall all be forgotten by each member of the two groups when Howard is rushed to the hospital, after eating a peanut that Leonard served at the viewing party.
It seems that the gang will all kiss and makeup, particularly Sheldon and Leonard, as they all troop to the emergency room of the hospital to be with Howard.
The viewing party is actually all about the popular HBO TV series “Game of Thrones” and it seems likely that every difference will be patched up after episode 21.
Meanwhile, showrunner Steve Molaro disclosed last month that there might be a change in the career of Penny in the remaining episodes of Season 9 of “The Big Bang Theory,” notwithstanding that she is already married.
As fans of “The Big Bang Theory” know, the career of Penny, played by Kaley Cuoco, has been one of the most tumultuous parts of her life since being introduced in Season 1. She spent most of her early years in the show working as a waitress and bartender at the Cheesecake Factory in order to supplement her acting career that was neither here nor there.
She eventually quit her job and joined her friend Bernadette, played by Melissa Rauch, at her pharmaceutical company, and thus giving up her dream of being an actress. She has been working with Bernadette since the Season 8 of “The Big Bang Theory” and it seems that it is going to change soon.
