American Crime Story Season 2 Could Give the Show a Big Overhaul!

“American Crime Story” had a very successful first season, and now many fans are looking forward to a second installment. We haven’t seen an official confirmation yet, but at this point many treat season 2 as pretty much confirmed, especially considering that Ryan Murphy – one of the show’s creators – has made some comments about his ideas for the next installment. The show follows a similar style to “American Horror Story”, but follows criminal events instead of horror mysteries. And like its horror counterpart, we can expect that each season will be its own unit and not directly tied to the others.

According to reports, work on the script for season 2 started just recently, so there hasn’t been much progress on that front. The writers apparently already have the main theme of the season, and it will be about hurricane Katrina. However, this season will likely have a much different tone than the previous one, focusing on a more abstract definition of the word “crime”. From what we’ve been able to gather, it’s shaping up to be a very exciting installment for those fond of philosophical discussions and deeper thinking.

Katrina was a major disaster for many people, but the problem was compounded by the reactions of some involved in the rescue operations, and this is precisely what the show is going to look at. In addition, we suspect that they are going to dig deep into topics like corruption, greed, and the human desire to put oneself above all others in the face of danger.

These themes could be particularly interesting to explore right now, after the fallout of the Panama Papers leak. We’re not sure if the writers are going to add any implications to the current situation in their work, but it wouldn’t be surprising. It would be interesting to see connections between present-day corruption and the events that transpired back then.

We might also see some returning faces from season 1. The producers of “American Horror Story” took an interesting approach to their show, reusing the cast between seasons in completely new roles, so it makes sense to expect this from the show’s criminal counterpart as well. So far, we’ve heard reports of John Travolta showing a desire to join the cast, but we don’t know of any other actors who might return.

On the topic of actors and characters, one of the main differences between the two seasons will be in the backgrounds of the people portrayed on the screen. The show won’t feature real-life characters anymore, and will instead focus on fictional stories. While we may see some references to real people – this is pretty much guaranteed given the nature of the disaster being depicted – the main cast will be a small group of people caught up in the disaster, completely invented by the writers. According to some fans, this is actually a better approach for several reasons.

The main one being that it gives the writers more creative freedom in deciding how they want to shape those stories, instead of having to follow the “script” of reality. We’ve already seen what the people behind this show are capable of when they are given some room for experimentation, so we expect something even more jaw-dropping from season 2. Plus, they’ve already built up quite a lot of experience with the style that they want to implement, so the next season should come with a much more polished presentation.
