Suits Season 6 to Feature Less of the Legal Stuff and More of Mike Ross in His New Environment!

During the Season 5 finale of the American legal drama TV series “Suits” on the USA Network just a few weeks ago, the jury who was hearing Mike Ross’ trial for fraud, has come to a decision to acquit him.

However, even before the jury was able to make its decision known to the court, Mike Ross, played by Patrick J. Adams, has already agreed to a plea bargain with US Assistant District Attorney Anita Gibbs, played by Leslie Anne Hope, on the condition that no other person from the Pearson Specter Litt law firm will be held liable for his wrongful and fraudulent actions.

Gibbs agreed to the deal and saw Mike Ross getting imprisoned during the Season 5 finale for a period of two years. Harvey Specter, played by Gabriel Macht, tried his best to save Mike and even offered a deal with Gibbs, but in the end, the wheels of justice turned.

It would have been anti-climactic and really unlawful for a legal drama to see Mike Ross getting away with the fraud he carried on during the first four seasons of the show so it was really a good idea that he pays the price for his sin. Harvey was aware of it as well as it was his and Mike’s big little secret in the law firm right from the start.

The Season 5 finale might not have been what the loyal fans and viewers of “Suits” expected but they eventually realized that it was the right thing to do and executive producer Aaron Korsh also thinks that the show took the right path in dealing with Mike’s case.

Drawing more anticipation

While the Season 5 finale was not a cliffhanger by any TV series’ standards, fans and viewers of “Suits” still want to know what happens to Mike and Harvey and their law firm on Season 6. That is the reason why “Suits” Season 6 is now getting a mounting anticipation from fans even though its fifth season just finished less than two months ago.

In a recent interview, Korsh said that Season 6 of “Suits” is really about moving forward. It will feature less of the legal stuff and see more of Mike’s humane side as he makes the adjustment to his new environment while serving time in prison.

Korsh also hinted that Mike will use the experience to bounce back and use it as a springboard to really pursue a legitimate legal career.

Rumors have it that his tenure in prison would prompt him to study afterward and earn a law degree but Korsh set it aside, saying that Season 6 will revolve around Mike’s life and challenges as a prisoner and how he will work on re-claiming his position within the legal firm, details News Every Day.

Bearing the brunt of the scandal

Because it highlighted a legal scandal involving one of its law practitioners, Pearson Specter Litt law firm suffered the consequences, thereby losing most of its clients and also its staff.

It was shown also during the Season 5 finale that after Mike was sentenced by the court, Jessica, played by Gina Torres, Louis, played by Rock Hoffman, and Donna, played by Sarah Rafferty, came back to the law firm only to discover that it was already empty.

Mike and Rachel, played by Meghan Markle, also decided to put on hold their wedding plans and will happen upon the release of Mike from prison if they are still together or as Mike puts it, they can revisit the idea of marriage after two years, details the Vine Report.

Contrary to speculations that there would be a time jump between the Season 5 finale and the upcoming Season 6, Korsh said that there is no time jump that will happen because he and the writers plan to resume with an episode during the first night of Mike in prison.

The showrunner said that it would be a good plotline especially with the backdrop that it will focus on Mike and the firm about what they will do and how to adapt their lives to their new situation.
