‘Teen Wolf’ Executive Producer Teases Ghost Story and Memory Being the Theme of Season 6

Executive producer Jeff Davis is spilling details on what fans can expect when MTV’s “Teen Wolf” returns for its sixth season.

Speaking to Seattle Pi, the series creator confirmed that the upcoming season will be a ghost story.

Davis says that since they went with a monster story in Season 5B, they have a pretty clear idea that Season 6 will be involving ghosts.

Davis adds that there’s a certain mythology that the writers are trying to incorporate in the upcoming season which is very different from previous ones.

It’s not confirmed yet if Beacon Hills will be overrun by ghosts in Season 6, but Davis reveals that memory will play a big part next season. The theme of Season 6 has a lot to do with memory.

Season 5 of MTV’s hit series ended on a good note as Scott and his pack were able to defeat the Beast of Gevaudan and save Mason.

However, the last few seconds of the season finale showed the werewolf that the Dread Doctors were keeping managed to escape its chamber.

The showrunner confirms that the creature, called the Nazi werewolf, will be one of the three main villains next season.

Vine Report says that the Nazi werewolf will be causing a lot of trouble in the upcoming season. Davis says that the presence of the villain might actually allow them to explore another episode in the World War II era.

MTV has already released a short snippet of Season 6 and it features someone riding a horse. Fans believe this as one of the Wild Hunt or the Ghost Rider.

The two are predicted to be part of the ghost story and presumed to play a mind-controlling game. They will be joined by another antagonist whose identity have not yet been disclosed, Fashion & Style reports.

The showrunner also revealed that Season 6 will pick up three months after the events of Season 5 and in the second semester of senior year.

He told Seattle Pi that as much as he’s not a fan of graduation scenes on TV, the characters are barreling through that journey and it will cause a lot of anxiety for the main characters.

Some reports claim that the midseason finale will end with the seniors, Scott, Stiles, Lydia, Kira, and Lydia, bidding Beacon Hills High farewell.

Speculations are also rife that by the second half of the season Dylan Sprayberry’s Liam, Khylin Rambo’s Mason, and Victoria Moroles’ Hayden will be the focus of the show.

Reports say that Liam may replace Scott as the leader of the pack since the latter is preparing to leave for college. Liam will reportedly be accelerating towards the idea of becoming an Alpha next season.

MTV has yet to release the exact premiere date of “Teen Wolf” Season 6, but if it will follow the pattern of previous seasons, then it is expected to premiere sometime this June.

Season 6 will contain 20 episodes and will be divided into two parts. In an interview with TV Line, Davis says that they are going back to their usual setting where they do a story arc that lasts for 10 episodes and another for the remaining 10.

The series creator admits that it was hard pulling off the Dread Doctors storyline for 20 episodes.

While much anticipation has been placed on Season 6’s villains, Davis also reveals that the upcoming season will go back to Scott and Stiles’ friendship.

Teen Wolf Season 5

Davis says that one of the things that the writers easily agreed upon was that the upcoming season will show the strength of friendship, especially between Tyler Posey’s and Dylan O’ Brien’s characters.

MTV News reports that Arden Cho’s Kira will be a highlight of the season too. Davis teases that big changes are up for the kitsune.
