‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 7 Episode 16 to See Rayna Determined to Put Stefan Away!

Season 7 of the American supernatural drama TV series “The Vampire Diaries” on The CW is still on its almost one-month hiatus and will be back for its episode 16 on April 1.

Entitled “Days of the Future Past,” the 16th episode shall focus on the show’s future storyline, which is just a continuation of what was featured in episode 15 that aired on March 4.

The 15th episode of “The Vampire Diaries” gave fans a better idea of how Stefan and Valerie, as well as Caroline and Alaric, ended up together. It was a disappointment to shippers of ‘Steroline’ but showrunner Julie Plec hinted that there is still hope for Stefan and Caroline to get back together, notes Melty.

The upcoming 16th episode will see Stefan being on the run again as Rayna has managed to break free from The Armory and she is determined to put away the young Salvatore for good.

The only way that she will stop in hunting down Stefan is if he transfers his mark of the Phoenix sword on his brother Damon through magical means, which Rayna also suggested. But doing so would come with uncertain and unexpected consequences.

Stefan and Damon could not also kill Rayna because if she is killed, Stefan would also die because of the mark that she put on him. So Stefan will decide to run and get away from Rayna as far as he could.

Framed for breaking out Rayna

During the previous episode, Enzo was shown being framed for breaking out Rayna out of The Armory and in episode 16, he will attempt to clear his name.

However, Enzo will have a violent run-in with Nora which shall force him to make an upsetting discovery.

Incidentally, episode 16 is directed by actor Ian Somerhalder, who plays the role of Damon Salvatore in the popular TV series.

The last time that Somerhalder directed an episode of “The Vampire Diaries” was during Season 6’s “The Downward Spiral,” reports the International Business Times of India.

To show his excitement for the next episode of the TV series, he posted a photo of himself working on the post-production of the episode which he said he directed. He captioned the image with Friday, April 1 and asks his followers to watch with him the episode because it will surely tug at viewers’ heartstrings.

Irreparable damage

It seems that the relationship of Damon and Stefan will also be strained in the upcoming 17th episode to air on April 8. According to the episode synopsis, Damon will cause an irreparable damage to his relationship with Stefan.

The episode shall be titled “I Went to the Woods” and will feature Stefan working against the time on a journey of survival while forced to confront a lifetime of irreversible damage Damon has done to their relationship.

It will also feature Matt and Valerie trying to persuade Alaric to help find Stefan. Rayna, on the other hand, is still determined to find and reach Stefan first even as a new threat emerges, proving that exciting times in Season 7 of “The Vampire Diaries” are here to stay until the season finale.

Incidentally, the 16th episode of “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7 will follow the footsteps of the second film of the latest “X-Men” trilogy.

Episode 16 will have the title “Days of the Future Past” and for those who know their film history, it is actually the title of the second movie of the latest “X-Men” trilogy that was shown in 2014.

The Vampire Diaries Season 7

While there will be no X-Men appearing in the upcoming episode of “The Vampire Diaries,” the vampire huntress Rayna will be putting the pressure on Stefan to give up his brother.

Damon and Valerie are also trying to get to the airport before Rayna breaks Stefan. The preview also hinted of the possibility that Stefan might agree to Rayna’s plan because of the excessive pain that he is experiencing.
