‘Game of Thrones’ Season 6 Jon Snow is Dead Alright, But He will be Resurrected

The biggest cliffhanger for Season 6 of the HBO hit TV series “Game of Thrones” immediately after the Season 5 finale last year was whether Jon Snow, played by Kit Harrington, is dead or alive after being stabbed multiple times by his brothers in the Night Watch.

With no “The Winds of Winter” to provide the spoilers, fans and viewers were actually left second-guessing, basing their theories on leaked photos of images from the set or from unreliable second-hand information on the internet.

There are also assumptions that since actor Kit Harrington has been renewed for his Season 6 contract with the show, it is almost sure that his character will be back.

It seems likely that Jon Snow will indeed be back in Season 6 of “Game of Thrones” as he will be working on redeeming the legacy of Ned Stark and take back Winterfell from the Boltons.

The only issue with viewers that remain is how will Jon Snow survive the near-death experience. Apparently Jon Snow will not experience any near-death experience this time because he will be dead at the start of Season 6, according to latest reports.

He will be dead as dead which is consistent with what Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark in the TV series, has said during an interview last year immediately after the Season 5 finale.

Latest word is out that Jon Snow will indeed be back but he has to be dead first. It turns out that the bastard of Winterfell will die first from the multiple stab wounds on his chest before he gets resurrected, notes Bustle.

Whether it will be Melissandre, played by Carrie Van Houten, who shall be bringing Jon Snow back to life, or someone else like what Ian McShane lately seems to insinuate, will be one of the major things to watch out for when “Game of Thrones” Season 6 premieres on HBO on April 24.

The other question is how long would Jon Snow be dead before he gets resurrected. One thing is sure, there is no truth to wild rumors that Snow will join the undead and become part of those hunting the wildings.

Sticking to his story

Kit Harrington, meanwhile, is sticking to his story that the only scenes he has filmed for Season 6 involve Jon Snow being very much dead.

Despite the actor’s pronouncement that he was on the set to film scenes of Jon Snow as a corpse, he was actually spotted on the set filming what many fans have speculated to be the battle of the bastards between Jon Snow and Ramsay Bolton for control of Winterfell.

It is possible that Jon Snow will be out of commission for the first few episodes of “Game of Thrones” Season 6 but he will definitely be back from the dead. The posters of the TV series with his bloodied face all over means that nearly everyone in the world following the show is putting importance on the life of Jon Snow on “Game of Thrones.”

In a nutshell, Jon Snow will indeed be back but it would not be the way fans and viewers would expect it to be, cites IGN.

During the same interview with Time Out magazine in London, he said that filming scenes for “Game of Thrones” with him being dead is some of his best work. But it seems that he was joking and merely putting up a poker face.

Also in the same interview, he said that “Game of Thrones” will remain a part of his life for a while and that he will probably be in his 30s when it’s all over.

Bringing back the Stark legacy

A minute-long teaser trailer of Season 6 of the HBO hit series “Game of Thrones” aired on February 14.

The trailer hardly offered anything significant as far as the possible plotline in the upcoming sixth season is concerned as it only featured the Hall of Faces in the House of Black and White.

Game of Thrones season 5

It showed the head of the departed Ned Stark accompanied by his disembodied voice. Towards the end, the head of Tyrion Lannister was also shown in the hall.

While the trailer may seem to hint at the death of the so-called Bill Clinton of Westeros, fans and critics believe that it seems very unlikely. The same shot in the trailer actually featured the busts of Sansa Stark, Arya Stark, Daenerys Targaryen, and Cersei Lannister, characters who are very remotely to die in Season 6 of “Game of Thrones.”
