Finnish game developer Supercell is enjoining gamers of the popular freemium mobile strategy game “Boom Beach” to explore the game and get the most out of it, not only in terms of excitement but rewards as well.
Other than fighting the enemies on the beaches as gamers plan to overrun island after island, Supercell has recently challenged gamers via the game’s Twitter handle to also explore the deep waters using the submarine.
Exploring the depths will enable gamers to get precious items beneath including fragments, shards, and diamonds. Of course, if they can get diamonds and other items with their dive, so much the better because they can eventually use it to buy new stuff and weapons or do some upgrade.
Supercell even asked gamers to share at the game forum their best dives ever using the submarine.
One seemingly active gamer shared that he went down as far as the deepest three and he got at least 13 fragments and five shards from the effort. But all of them were Magma. He expressed that his dive using the submarine were all for depths less than 900 meters but he said he would be looking forward to making a deeper dive and finding more from the numerous dive locations in the game.
Maintenance work
On February 26, Supercell has temporarily shut down its server for “Boom Beach” to do maintenance work.
It was about the same time that reports about the other popular mobile video game in the Supercell stable “Clash of Clans” closing down on February 29 heightened.
Supercell later on clarified that it was not planning to shut down “Clash of Clans” regardless of the glitches, bugs, and cheats that appear to be destroying the game. But it can momentarily shut down the game server to do maintenance work and fix those issues.
That could have been the real story, which was only tweaked by some other game developers hoping to get a piece of the market share of “Clash of Clans”
Such prank has yet to hit “Boom Beach” considering that it is still two to three rungs behind “Clash of Clans” as today’s most popular mobile video games. Nonetheless, gamers know better if they are being taken for a ride by such types of news if and when it comes out in the future.
Keeping the game excitement on
“Boom Beach” has periodic events that are meant to keep the excitement of gamers and fans on the game.
One of the most successful events in recent months is the Mega Crab event featuring Dr. T and latest reports have it that the two characters will be returning soon in another Mega Crab event likely to be held this March.
Finnish game developer Supercell has recently released an event teaser showing Dr. T definitely planning his revenge somewhere in the archipelago after he was forced into melon-farming retirement when his Mega Crab was defeated by players.
While Supercell has not made any official announcement regarding the event, but considering the overwhelmingly positive response to Mega Crab when it first came out online, the Finnish game developer simply cannot let it pass.
Prior to the first Mega Crab event late last year, a black shadow initially appeared on the map, which when click will see the information about time, a countdown timer indicating the exact time that the event or game can be played.
Indeed, the appearance of that black shadow on the map looks very much like the appearance of a crab, something which would be enough to hide the real face of the Boss hidden in the crab.
Supercell has previously invested in “Boom Beach” for the Mega Crab event and it is unlikely for the developer to exclude Dr. T on it and just let the event focus only on the Mega Crab.
Based on its records, over eight billion “Boom Beach” troops were deployed in the struggle against the Mega Crab, with three billion of those troops being Zooka troops, 1.8 billion being Riflemen, and 1.3 billion being Heavy troops.
