As Frank Underwood, played by Kevin Spacey, gears for re-election in the American political drama TV series “House of Cards” Season 4 on Netflix, he has to contend with the fallout of his relationship with Claire, played by Robin Wright, and his murderous past.
Based on the latest trailer of “House of Cards” Season 4, which is due to premiere on March 4, Frank’s murderous past will haunt him and bite his conscience especially now that he is practically alone and no longer has Claire as his security blanket.
Apparently, the thought about how he killed his former lover Zoe Barnes, who was planning to expose him and derail his bid to become President back then, as well as how he caused the death of Peter Russo for knowing too much about his work, will bite Frank Underwood not only on his conscience but on his butt, points out the Korea Portal.
In the same video clip, Frank’s voice can be heard along with a montage of scenes. The disembodied voice was saying that you have no idea what it means to have nothing and that you don’t value what we have achieved. Frank also said that he had to fight for everything in his entire life. It was as if his conscience was telling those things straight to his face.
The footage also shows Frank telling Claire that they had a future together until she started destroying it.
Season 3 cliffhanger
The cliffhanger during the Season 3 finale of “House of Cards” last year was the possible repercussion of Claire walking out on her husband and throwing all her contributions to his presidency back at his face. Claire even told Frank that she should have never made him President.
The looming face-off and confrontation between Frank and Claire in the upcoming presidential election is what’s giving a lot of excitement to the writers of the hit TV series since it’s like pitting two Alphas against each other.
Showrunner Beau Willimon explained that they have had a lot of challenges not just in terms of obstacles Frank will face but also what is the nature of the union between Frank and Claire.
Based on the official Twitter handle of “House of Cards,” some big reveal is headed Frank’s way in the upcoming fourth season. Another sneak peek of the TV series has just aired on February 22.
Too much blood
Prior to the sneak peek, the latest trailer for “House of Cards” Season 4 came out as another allusion to Frank’s bloody past. In the teaser titled “Drop,” the camera starts with a close-up of what seems to be blood on the street and the continued dripping from above, details Enstarz.
A recent report reveals that Frank will be running his campaign from Greenville, South Carolina, which is also his home.
The clip plays up great intrigue as no one can tell if Claire is back with Frank or she is working toward his ruin.
While the previous teasers about “House of Cards” focused more on the political ambitions of Frank to stay in the White House, despite the blowout breakup he had with his wife Claire, during the Season 3 finale, the latest trailer of the TV series appears to be a big pail of cold water to douse Frank’s hopes.
Apparently, Frank’s past misdeeds will begin to catch up with him especially now that he and his wife have parted ways.
The latest teaser trailer released by Netflix for “House of Cards” Season 4 featured a Season 2 scene when Frank pushed Zoe Barnes, played by Kate Mara, in front of an oncoming train. Frank had to resort to his cold-blooded murderous instinct because Zoe was close to revealing some of his misdeeds then.
It is not clear if the scene is meant to insinuate that Frank would be doing it again on Season 4 or that somebody, like Claire perhaps, would finally let the public and the world know who really Frank Underwood is behind his presidential façade.
