Frozen 2 Will be Titled ‘Rogue One,’ Jokes Olaf Voice Actor Josh Gad!

If it is up to Josh Gad, the voice actor for the snowman character Olaf in “Frozen,” the sequel to the most successful animated film of all time shall be called “Rogue One.”

Josh Gad made the joke during the Disney Shareholders Meeting held in San Francisco, California towards the close of 2015. He was obviously alluding to the “Star Wars” spinoff film “Rogue One.”

It so happened that “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” at that time was breaking box-office records in the US and in the world, moving its way up the ladder in the list of highest-grossing movies of all time.

But there is certainly not going to be any crossover of “Frozen” and “Star Wars” in “Frozen 2.” Or perhaps, Josh Gad may be referring to a possible plotline where one of the sisters of Arendelle, possibly Anna, going rogue, consistent with one of the previous rumors.

However, nothing has been confirmed as of yet as regards the “Frozen 2” plotline. What has been confirmed by John Lasseter, Chief Creative Officer of Disney Animation during the Disney Shareholders Meeting in December last year is that the film would be released in 2018 and that Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee will return to co-write and co-direct the film, details Youth Health Mag.

And with the presence of Josh Gad during the Disney meeting, his Olaf character is also sure to be back in “Frozen 2.”

A changed man

Latest reports also have it that Prince Hans, who was a villain during “Frozen” will return to the sequel but he will no longer be a bad guy anymore.

It is speculated that Queen Elsa and Princess Anna will forgive Prince Hans as they both believe in second chances. Reports also have it that Prince Hans will be Queen Elsa’s love interest in “Frozen 2.”

However, there are also reports that Olaf will be the love interest of Queen Elsa considering that the snow character is her creation too.

There are also rumors saying that Anna will also have her own superpower just like her sister but Jennifer Lee quashed those speculations when she said that Anna’s power is love, which she displayed in “Frozen.”

A lovable music

“Frozen 2” is expected to offer a new tale of love and family and just like its predecessor, it will also have a new music that will eventually become a cult favorite just like “Let It Go” in the first film that was sung by actress Idina Menzel, notes the Christian Today.

There are reports that Queen Elsa and Princess Anna will be singing a duet that would become a hit and fans would certainly remember it for a long time. It is projected that the song is set to become the most popular song in the sequel and will match, if not surpass, the feat of “Let It Go.”

A known film critic Tim Robey said that he believes that the producers will definitely try to position one song of “Frozen 2” as a “Let It Go” trumping central number, which he thinks is a duet between the sisters.

The song will also allow the sisters to be closer than they ever were. The first film only shared a few scenes that showed the relationship of Elsa and Anna so the sequel will focus more on the detailed development of their sisterly love, the film critic added.

Most of the other speculations about the possible plotlines of “Frozen 2” are fan wishful thinking as the only confirmation made by Chris Buck is that he wanted to make the sequel to the most successful animated film in history as a great opportunity to impart a very strong message for the children.
