There is no letting up on the excitement for Season 11 of the American police procedural drama TV series “Criminal Minds” on CBS.
The show really has what it takes to keep viewers glued to its every episode. It is no wonder that even this early, the producers seem confident that “Criminal Minds” will be renewed for a 12th season on CBS.
After a two-week break, episode 14 of “Criminal Minds” will air on February 10, titled “Hostage.” The episode is actually inspired by the true-to-life story of three young victims who were held hostage by notorious kidnapper Ariel Castro.
The plotline of the upcoming episode of “Criminal Minds” was very similar to what happened with the three women that Ariel Castro abducted and kept in his house in Cleveland for years until they managed to escape in 2013, details the Christian Post.
Ariel Castro abducted Michelle Knight in 2002, then Amanda Berry in 2003, and Gina De Jesus in 2004, who were only 21, 16, and 14, respectively. The three women managed to escape from their kidnapper in 2013 when someone heard them yelling from inside Castro’s house.
Putting a twist
However, the episode of “Criminal Minds” will put a twist on the real-life kidnapping story by having just one of the three women escaping her abductor first.
The teenage girl will manage to escape a suburban home where she and two others were being held in bondage for years.
The Behavioural Analysis Unit (BAU) will then search for the Unsub who kidnapped them and will obviously apprehend him subsequently.
In the real-life kidnapping story, Castro was arrested by authorities and sentenced to life imprisonment without parole after pleading guilty to 937 counts of rape, kidnapping, and aggravated murder. However, he committed suicide just one month into his sentence, details the Latin Post.
A sneak peek
A preview of the upcoming episode of “Criminal Minds” feature the three young girls being kept in a room and Agent Derek Morgan, played by Shemar Moore, is heard saying that the girls have been there for over 10 years.
The clip also showed the Unsub telling the girls that if somebody found out about them, Daddy, referring to himself, always loves them.
Episode 14 of “Criminal Minds” was directed by Bethany Rooney and was written by Virgil Williams. Guest stars include Daniel Roebuck as Michael Clark Thompson a.k.a. the Unsub, Amelia Rose Blaire as Violet/Amelia Hawthorne, Rebekah Kennedy as Gina Bryant, and Pearl Dickson as Sheila Woods, who were the three kidnapped women.
After the 13th episode of Season 11 of “Criminal Minds” was aired on January 27, where the BAU had to stop the truck stop killings, it seems that the show encountered a scheduling conflict with CBS that its next four episodes would be aired two weeks apart.
Its episode 14 titled “Hostage” is set to be aired on February 10 while its 15th episode titled “A Badge with a Gun” will be aired on February 24.
But its episode 16, titled “Derek” will be aired one week after episode 15 on March 2 before the 17th episode titled “The Sandman” gets to be aired on March 17, another two weeks.
CBS has yet to release the air date schedules of the last four episodes of Season 11 of “Criminal Minds” but it is certainly leaving fans to wonder whether the TV series is now getting to be a less of a priority in the network.
Whenever a network makes a TV series less of its priority, there is always the chance that it would be cancelled for the next season.
