Advances in medicine

Based on the synopsis of the upcoming fourth episode of “Call the Midwife,” the advances in medicine will open up opportunities for education as well, making it open to all.

Despite his working background, Ian is just too happy to be accepted into a university and embraces his chances to escape Poplar, much to the disappointment of his traditional mother Sadie.

But Ian’s plans are ruined when his girlfriend Linda became pregnant. Midwife Trixie Franklin, played by Helen George, and Tom Hereward, played by Jack Ashton, help the family, which begins to break apart because of the unplanned pregnancy.

But Trixie and Tom will also have problems of their own as Tom starts seeing Barbara, played by Charlotte Ritchie. Barbara previously gave the impression that Trixie won’t be able to handle the fact that Tom is seeing her.

It would be interesting how Trixie would react as the past episode saw Barbara and Tom in a place where they are not together and don’t know what’s necessarily going to happen. But one thing is sure, it will stir things up a bit in the next episode of “Call the Midwife” Season 5.
