The 14th episode of Season 9 of the American sitcom “The Big Bang Theory” on CBS will air on February 4 with the title “Meemaw Materialization.”
Fans and viewers of the show know that Meemaw is the maternal grandmother of Sheldon, played by Jim Parson. He has been talking about it in the past episodes and Meemaw will finally show up through veteran actress June Squibb, who is also known for her roles in “Nebraska,” and “About Schmidt,” details the Christian Post.
As Sheldon has been saying, Meemaw is another important woman in his life and her grandmother will pay him a visit. After eight and a half seasons of “The Big Bang Theory,” the gang will finally meet the never-before seen-but-often-talked-about grandmother of Sheldon.
It would also be interesting to see how Meemaw would view the girlfriend of Sheldon, Amy Farrah Fowler, played by Mayim Bialik.
Based on the synopsis of episode 14 of “The Big Bang Theory,” Sheldon would be thrilled with the visit of his grandmother whom she lovingly addresses as Moonpie.
The same synopsis also revealed that Meemaw would butt heads with Amy at first so Sheldon would be caught in the middle. Meemaw’s dislike of Amy will take shape after she found out that Amy has broken up with Sheldon last year, as shown during the Season 8 finale. Considering how she loves her grandson so much, breaking his heart is just a no-no for her.
Spilling the beans on Sheldon
After being pacified by Sheldon, Meemaw will eventually make amends and surprisingly hit it off well with Amy.
In fact, she will feel too comfortable with Amy that she will actually divulge to her that Sheldon was secretly planning to propose to her. Meemaw will also let Amy in on the engagement ring and it is really exciting how Amy would take the information overload from Sheldon’s Moonpie.
It is still unclear though whether Meemaw has other secrets that she would be revealing to Amy but given the fact that she’s got more intimate knowledge of her grandson than anyone else on the show, there are just a lot of things about Sheldon she can share.
That alone makes fans and viewers already excited about the upcoming episode of “The Big Bang Theory.”
It is also not clear if Meemaw would be featured in just one episode or stay for some more but fans would really love her around to keep on spilling the beans on her grandson.
Girlfriend struggles
The next episode of “The Big Bang Theory” Season 9 shall also see Raj, played by Kunal Nayyar, having some girlfriend struggles of his own, notes the International Business Times.
Based on the synopsis, Raj will meet a new girl at the comic store named Claire, to be played by Alessandra Torresani.
Claire would make Raj have second thoughts about his relationship with Emily, played by Laura Spencer, and reports have it that Raj will eventually be breaking up with her in the 15th episode of “The Big Bang Theory.”
It can be recalled that since Emily’s first appearance in Season 7, she and Raj have been trying very hard to make their relationship work.
Although it seems that they love each other, their time together has just been plagued by other men and women, hurt feelings, and comically outrageous screw-ups.
Meanwhile, when Sheldon and Amy consummated the sex during episode 11 of Season 9 that aired in December last year, fans of “The Big Bang Theory” have been thinking of whether a wedding of Shamy might be in the works in the future.
According to Steve Molaro, showrunner of “The Big Bang Theory,” sex between Sheldon and Amy was something that the writers had been talking about early on and that he believes that the act evolved naturally in the course of the couple’s five and a half years of relationship.
