With Season 4 of the historical drama series “Vikings” about to premiere on the History Channel on February 18, there has been plenty of information on the internet about the show. Given the TV series’ closeness to its air date, there is a good chance that the latest information is right on target.
One of the things that have been making fans excited for the fourth season of “Vikings” is the cameo appearance of Toronto Blue Jays baseball player Josh Donaldson.
The baseball player recently shared on his Instagram account a picture of himself looking like a Viking with the hairdo and the beard and captioned it by saying that he is done filming for Season 4 of “Vikings” and that he had really enjoyed his time on the set, details Design & Trend.
Apparently, Donaldson will take on the role of Hoskuld, which is described as a Viking warrior of great skill. But it is not yet known what episode of Season 4 will his character be introduced or for how many episodes will he appear.
A fan of the show
In one of his posts on his Twitter account, Donaldson said that filming for Season 4 was a wrap and that he will never forget his experience.
He also posted another photo showing him with fellow Canadian, Alexander Ludwig, who plays Bjorn Ironside in the TV series.
Donaldson was actually the one who announced on Twitter recently of his guesting in “Vikings” when he posted an eight-second video clip where he was quoted as saying that he is excited to be a part of the “Vikings” series.
He captioned it by saying that he has been working on the beard and the hair for months so that he can get ready to raid.
The 30-year-old Toronto Blue Jays baseman is a huge fan of “Vikings.” He is known in the game for his strange-looking hair styles and when he shared a photo of his hairdo on Instagram, it actually resembled the look of show main character King Ragnar Lothbrok, played by actor Travis Fimmel.
But his character is not the only new face in “Vikings” that will be introduced in Season 4. There is also Peter Franzen as Scandinavian warrior King Harald Finehair, Jasper Paakkone as Finehair’s younger brother Halfdan the Black, and Dianne Doan as Chinese slave YiDu.
Promo photos
There has been a handful of promo photos for Season 4 of “Vikings” released recently by the History Channel and it featured some of the show’s familiar faces.
There is King Ragnar sitting cooly in his chair while looking over his domain after surviving a close encounter with death in Paris in the previous season. Ragnar is bound to return and raid Paris once again, details the Christian Post.
There are also images showing Ragnar and his son Bjorn in what appears to be a deep conversation.
According to latest reports, there will be some disagreements between Ragnar and Bjorn that would force the young man to embark on a solo journey into the Norwegian wilderness. But there are also speculations citing that it was Ragnar’s test to his son to prove the latter’s worth as heir to his throne as King of Kattegat in Denmark.
There is also an image of King Rognvaldsson Rollo, played by Clive Standen, who is stuck in Paris and is about to marry the land’s princess.
The official trailer of “Vikings” shown early last month featured King Ragnar Lothbrok returning home to Kattegat after seizing victory in Paris during the Season 3 finale. It was a major victory for the Vikings as they were already on the jaws of defeat in the epic battle but somehow managed to turn the tables on their enemies.
However, Ragnar will be returning home dangerously ill after getting nearly killed during the battle in Paris.
With his health issues possibly crippling Ragnar, reports have it that others will be seeking to take over his throne as leader of the Vikings including his wife Aslaug and eldest son Bjorn Ironside.
