The mid-range handset Samsung Galaxy J7 was launched in June last year along with the Galaxy J5 and went on to become the most trending smartphone of 2015.
Before the end of the year, Samsung decided to launch a 2016 iteration of four smartphones in its Galaxy A series, namely, the Galaxy A3, the Galaxy A5, the Galaxy A7, and the Galaxy A9.
The Korean tech giant wants to build on its gains on its mid-range smartphone lines that it has decided also to come out with a 2016 refresh of three handsets in its J series including the Galaxy J7, the Galaxy J5, and the Galaxy J1.
Critics and consumers find it surprising initially as the Galaxy J series were just in the retail markets for a little over six months. But they welcomed it nonetheless as they expect that the new smartphones are improved versions of their predecessor variants.
The basic similarities and differences
The 2016 version of the Samsung Galaxy J1 has quietly gone on sale in Dubai before the latest versions of the Galaxy J5 and the Galaxy J7 were launched during the recent GFXBench event.
Based on its exposure during the GFXBench, the 2016 edition of the Samsung Galaxy J7 maintained its predecessor’s 5.5-inch screen size as well as its Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, notes the GSM Arena.
The refreshed Galaxy J7 also kept the 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and 5-megapixel front snapper as well as the 16GB internal storage that its predecessor has.
However, it now has double the RAM capacity of its predecessor with 3GB and has a Full HD resolution.
The even better news for consumers is that the 2016 edition of Galaxy J7 is actually cheaper than its 2015 variant.
Preparing for stronger competition
Reports have it that Samsung decided to launch a refreshed version of its J series in anticipation of the strong competition posed by Chinese smartphone manufacturers.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 variant may still carry the same name, but it offers better specifications and more value to consumers, notes WhaTech.
The performance level of the mid-range smartphone is somewhat heightened and is now in a better position to run most apps and games at Full HD resolution.
With its cheaper price tag compared to its 2015 variant, the new Samsung Galaxy J7 offers an excellent upgrade to its predecessor at less the price. The smartphone is expected to make it to the retail markets in the first quarter of this year with a retail price that is closer to $200, far cheaper than the $290 price tag of the 2015 edition of the Galaxy J7.
The handset is expected to come out in four color options including white, black, gold, and rose gold, which shall also be the same for the Galaxy J5 2016 edition.
Last year, users were never wrong going with the original Galaxy J7 because it has the best battery life among smartphones in the market at that time.
It has a display that is big enough for consuming media, reading, browsing, and social networking, as well as double the storage than that of the Galaxy J5.
It also comes at a time when features like removable batteries and expandable storage were being set aside in favor of elegant metal designs. The Galaxy J7 is one of the few decent Samsung smartphones that consumers will find in the market that sets out to please everyone and manages to do just that.
As for the downsides, when Samsung released the Galaxy J7 and the Galaxy J5, both have been positioned as 4G LTE smartphones but it turned out that both smartphones have variants that do not support LTE, which is a disappointment to a good number of users.
Eventually, some consumers realized that the Galaxy J7 model that runs on the Exynos 7580 processor is not LTE-capable and the variant that features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 is the one that has LTE connectivity.

When it is going to release …..2015 is one of the best phone…excited to see 2016 version
