Another trailer for the upcoming comedy film “Barbershop: The Next Cut” has already been released and fans of Nicki Minaj are happy to see more of the rapper this time around.
In the newest clip, Nicki is seen getting into a speech about Beyonce’s hairstyle. The third installment to the Barbershop film series is a direct sequel to 2004’s “Barbershop 2: Back in Business” and 2002’s “Barbershop.”
The “Super Bass” singer is set to star on the big screen alongside Ice Cube, Anthony Anderson, Regina Hall, Common, Cedric the Entertainer, Eve, and more.
The film revolves around Ice Cube’s Calvin and his barbershop, the people who work in it, and those who stop by to get a haircut.
The film opens 10 years after the last film with Calvin and his crew using the barbershop as a safe place for teens to come and hang out in an attempt to help clean up their neighborhood. This then attracts media attention and inspires a social movement to promote change and peace.
Nicki will be playing Draya, a hairdresser at Calvin’s barbershop. The film, directed by Malcolm D. Lee, is set to hit theaters on April 15.
This wouldn’t be the 33-year-old rapper’s first big screen exposure. In 2014, she already starred in “The Other Woman” alongside Cameron Diaz, Kate Upton, and Leslie Mann.
That same year, she also released her short film “Pinkprint Mini Movie” which she developed and starred in. She also lent her voice to play Steffie in 2012’s “Ice Age: Continental Drift.”
While things are going well for Minaj’s acting career, things aren’t going well for her beau, Meek Mill. Reports say that the 28-year-old rapper and another rapper, 50 Cent have already been feuding for days now over Meek’s track “Gave ‘Em Hope.”
According to Hollywood Life, the two have had quite some conflict, but things took a turn for the worse when Mill dropped his new album “4/4” earlier this week. The track “Gave ‘Em Hope” obviously slams the 40-year-old rapper.
The song also went after 50 Cent’s ongoing feud with his mentor and MMG boss Rick Ross.
International Business Times reports that although he took aim at 50 Cent on his diss track, Mill confirmed on his words through Instagram that he is indeed slamming the hip hop mogul.
Meek reveals that 50 Cent ordered Rick Ross’ ex-girlfriend to pay for leaking her sex tape. He also reveals his turbulent friendship with boxing champion Floyd Mayweather, and alcohol business venture Effen Vodka, where 50 Cent is a part-owner.
50 Cent for his part, took to Instagram his rage over Mill and even dragged his girlfriend in it. The Jamaican rapper said in the Instagram post that contained photos of poop that Mill should not fight him and just focus on getting Nicki pregnant.
Mill immediately retaliated and said that 50 Cent is broke and his career is definitely over. Since then, the two have had their turns at dissing each other on social media, exchanging nasty words for their followers to see.
Apparently, hip hop’s latest feud keeps the fans entertained as the two rappers have been trading insults with no holds barred. The fight even dragged the names of Irv Gotti and Tony Yayo in it.
For her part, Minaj has had enough of her boyfriend getting into a fight with 50 Cent. Hollywood Life reports that “The Night is Still Young” singer has been telling her beau to just be the bigger man in the feud and just stop.
Sources say Nicki has been telling that there’s no need for Meek to continue going back and forth with 50 Cent and Drake, but sometimes his ego just lets it get the better of him.
