‘The Flash’ Season 2 Episode 10 to See the Super Speedster Being Slowed Down by The Turtle!

Episode 10 of Season 2 of the American superhero drama TV series “The Flash” will return to The CW on January 19 and mark the show’s midseason premiere featuring an irony of ironies.

Every viewer knows that Barry Allen, played by Grant Gustin, as The Flash is very fast and he has been using his speed to go after meta-humans, most of whom also make use of their speed to wreck havoc in Central City.

But in the upcoming 10th episode of “The Flash,” the super speedster shall be up against a new villain who does not have the speed but is actually very slow. The baddie will be called The Turtle and he will ironically attempt to slow down The Flash, believing in the mantra that the slow and steady wins the race, notes the International Business Times.

The Turtle shall be played by Canadian actor Aaron Douglas, who is best known for his role as Galen Tyrol, also known as The Chief, in “Battlestar Galactica,” the cult series in Syfy network that aired for several seasons from 2004 to 2009.

The character is one of the oldest villains in “The Flash” comics. He first appeared as a regular foe of Jay Garrick, played by Teddy Sears in The CW series, back in the 1940s.

The Turtle deploys clever devices and tricks designed to slow down The Flash and neutralize his speed. Some versions of the character could actually drain the power of the super speedster.

Later in the comics, The Turtle eventually became a nemesis for Wally West, played by Keiynan Lonsdale in The CW series. He was eventually succeeded by Turtle Man, a bank robber who looked up to The Turtle and became a rival of Barry Allen.

Comics enthusiasts believe that The Turtle that shall appear in “The Flash” episode 10 would be a combination of The Turtle and Turtle Man.

Iris West about to move on

Meanwhile, a fan-favorite character of “The Flash,” Iris West, will finally move on from the death of her fiancé Eddie Thawne in the second half of Season 2 of the popular TV series.

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg says that the back half of Season 2 of “The Flash” will see the journalistic and romantic aspects of the life of Iris West, played by Candice Patton, taking center stage, notes TV Line.

Apparently, she will build on the knowledge that her mother Francine is alive and that she has a brother.

As to whom Iris will have her romantic tryst, critics believe that it could be with Scott Evans, played by Tone Bell. However, Iris and Scott will first have to overcome a difference of opinion about the city’s most famous resident. Viewers know that Iris West is very supportive of The Flash while Scott does not approve of his ways.

Kreisberg said that the relationship would be very interesting because Scott can’t stand The Flash because he thinks the speedster is a phony and he also does not believe in heroes anymore while Iris has become The Flash’s biggest booster.

Serious problem for Barry

The 10th episode of “The Flash” is titled “Potential Energy.” Based on the earlier teasers of the midseason premiere of “The Flash,” Patty Spivot, played by Shantel VanSanten, will be in some very real danger. It seems that she will be captured by Zoom and the situation shall put Barry Allen into some serious problem considering his feelings for her.

the flash

However, upon the release of the official synopsis of the 10th episode of “The Flash,” it seems that The Flash will have more problems dealing with the return of the Reverse-Flash than rescuing Patty from the hands of Zoom.

The Reverse-Flash is the villain in Season 1 and he appeared to have been killed already so it would be interesting to see how the showrunners will be bringing back the character in the second half of Season 2 of “The Flash.”
