After so much talk about the upcoming “The Division”, it’s finally time for gamers to see what all the hype was about, and whether the game will live up to the huge expectations that many already have for it. A lot has happened over the months since the game was first revealed, and while the initial impressions wore off a little bit after some potential issues with the game were brought to light, many gamers still have a lot of hope for it.
This edition of the Humble Bundle is focused on Tom Clancy’s line of games, and features various titles from different generations. Of course, the centerpiece of the promotion is the exclusive beta access to the new games, which seems to be the main motivating factor behind some people’s participation. In any case, if the offer manages to bring some positive attention to the game, it will still be a good deal for the publishers themselves.
As usual, the Bundle allows gamers to pay anything they want, but in order to obtain the best offers – including the special beta access – they would have to beat the average. Currently, this is lingering around $10, which is a pretty good offer for the chance to test two of the hottest upcoming games in this genre. In addition, the Bundle comes packed with other titles, including the original “Rainbow Six” games, as well as games from the “Splinter Cell” franchise. All in all, those looking for some hot military action and conspiracies will have plenty to have fun with.
Hopefully the game will be able to live up to the expectations Ubisoft set for it with their various previews, as there are rumors that there have been issues with its development behind the scenes lately, and we are not sure how well things are coming along right now. The beta was supposed to start earlier and the current release is actually coming after a delay, and for many people this was an indication that something was wrong and the project wasn’t exactly moving forward as planned. On the other hand, we also got worrying reports that the final game might not look exactly like the previews implied, and some changes might have been made to fit it into the development schedule.
Talks about those changes used to dominate discussions about the game for a while, and some people were worried that the final product will be significantly downgraded in the graphics department compared to what we saw. And if that turns out to be true, it would be a huge blow to the popularity of the title. Many gamers don’t care about graphics as their primary concern in a game, but “The Division” was partly hyped up for the advanced nature of its graphics exactly, so if the game lacks that, many gamers would end up feeling cheated and this could easily affect the reputation of Ubisoft in the long run.
Which would be sad by itself, as the studio has been putting some obvious effort in repairing their reputation and making themselves seem more favorable in the eyes of their fans. The company suffered in this regard over the recent years as they made some poorly calculated moves, particularly with the “Assassin’s Creed” franchise. They’ve started to get back on the right track lately though, which is why it would be so disappointing to see them repeating the same old mistakes.
