True Detective Season 2 was looking for actresses for the female characters. Taylor Kitsch, Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn have already been signed up for the male leads. There are rumours that actresses Abigail Spencer along with Kelly Reilly, and Leven Rambin are being considered for the females leads.
The hit HBO series, True Detective, created by Nic Pizzolatto, had a successful first season run. The hour long eight episodes, for season 2 will deal with three police officers and a career criminal. They set out to make sense of a huge conspiracy that comes into the picture after a brutal murder. Farrell fills the shoes of Ray Velcoro, a compromised detective who is torn between his obligations towards his bosses in a corrupt police department and his loyalty to a gangster who owns his life.
Taylor Kitsch will play Paul Woodrough, a military veteran with his share of problems. Vince Vaughn portrays Frank Semyon, a career criminal who is about to end up losing his legitimate business after his partner is brutally murdered. Rachel McAdams and Michael Irby are also believed to have been offered powerful roles of a police officer and her tough colleague respectively.
The powerful male characters require powerful female leads and with Abigail Spencer, Kelly Reilly and Leven Rambin being considered we believe that the roles offered are fit for these character actors.
Abigail Spencer has already made quite a name for herself with the role of Amantha Holden in Rectify. At The Grill, a media conference organised at Montage, in Beverley Hills, Abigail Spencer spoke candidly about the powerful roles that she had been fortunate enough to play.
She said big production houses have begun focusing on women-centric plots, like Rectify or at least places strong women in a male dominated plot like True Detective.
Abigail Spencer plays the role of a strong woman who fights against all odds to prove to the world the innocence of her brother. Daniel has been charged with murdered, but it’s proved soon enough that there was another person at the scene of the murder. Abigail says she is lucky to have characterized Suzanne Farrell in Mad Men and Amanda Holden in Rectify. She is now being considered for another powerful and strong female character in True Detective.
Abigail was a victim of the “fappening” episode on the internet, where a hacker got access to some personal photos of top celebrities and leaked them on the internet. Numerous celebrities became a target of this hacker apart from Abigail Spencer, like Jennifer Lawrence, Kaley Cuoco, Kim Kardashian and many more.
